our crazy country
Every day we read about things that are happening in this country which make you think that the lunatics are running the asylum In the paper today a man who rode around looking for drunk vulnerable girls to sexually assault could not be jailed because it would be against his human rights
Also shop lifting has become an epidemic with people just helping themselves going into shops including "Greggs" with large bags and filling the bags and just walking out of the shops
A man was jailed for 3 years after attacking his girlfriend but was released after 12 weeks because of overcrowding in jail.

I don't if this is true but, someone told me that, Its not worth the police's time to prosecute shop lifters for items under £70. If this is true then, no wonder there is an epidemic

In many parts of India if you are caught shoplifting you are detained by staff and helpers ... pants down male or female and your genitalia/rectum are liberally coated in very hot chilli powder. Bet they didn't return.

Shoplifting is a pretty serious problem for the staff at Tesco Express. On several occasions, folk have made off with a haul of - would you believe - boxes of washing powder! It's not as if they wash their clothes by the looks of some of them, so the only thing I can think of is that they're cutting it into cocaine, or something similar.
Some months ago they re-installed screens at the counters, and the staff are told not to try to manually stop them. However, they now have the power to lock the doors on entrance and exit, which is a bit of a pain, but understandable.
My punishment would be to get them down on the floor, open their mouths, and pour the powder in a bit at a time so they don't choke, but enough for them to start foaming and swallowing some of it.

Shoplifting is a main reason for continual inflationary price rises in stores, supermarkets etc as sellers cover their losses by passing the losses onto the customers in order to maintain their profit margins.
The more they get away with stealing, the more the honest law abiding people pay for it and it will go worse as we do not have any proper deterrents for punishing crime!

I have to disagree with you there, because although 'wastage' as it is known in stores is a problem, it varies in different areas of the country, and sufficient security in those stores now in the form of surveillance technology, and some stores now have an exit system through a barrier, where you need a receipt to get out of the store 'EXAMPLE' the main reason for high inflation is government policy, as in the high burden of taxation which has been heaped on the British people in recent years, first by the Conservatives and now by the Labour Party, add to that the high price of gas and electric, because of the mental Net-Zero policies, then there is the over regulation of business, and as a result the expensive operation of those over regulation policies to business, and the abject failure of the Conservatives and now Labour to rid the country of the authoritarian EU bureaucracy, such as over regulation of business, which could have been got rid of upon Brexit.
The government should be attracting businesses into this country from abroad, and attracting home grown talent to open businesses here, with low taxation policies for those businesses, not taxing the sh*t out of existing businesses, and making it nigh on impossible to open a business here, because the running costs of those businesses would be so high as to make launching such a venture impossible, because the new businesses would be unviable from the start.
This country is going to hell in a handcart, pushed along by the likes of Rishi Sunak and now Kier Starmer and Rachel Thieves
