40 P for a pee

Started by: tomplum (14268)

Thats the price i had to pay in Morecambe today in a public toilet but, because we did a synchronized pee, I did the gentleman thing and let Mrs Plum go first then she held the door open for my turn so we actually had a 20p pee each, Another cold day and most shops shut and the ones open were't doing much business but, lots of cars doing what we was, just getting out for mooch,

Aye well Tom, that's the price you have to pay for using public facilities these days. Somebody has to pay those who clean the lavvies (sometimes not the nicest of jobs), especially when drunks miss the target and/or vomit in them. That's inflation for ya.

It has been cold again today, but you and the missus got out of the house instead of staring at the same four walls, and that's a bonus.

indeed Mollie, keeping active is important at our age, the old saying ' use it or lose it' is a very true in my opinion,

What's 40p these days to keep unattended toilets clean, especially where you can keep the door open for others and others before you have held the door for you?

40 p is nothing Owd codge but if you've no change and caught short. Its inconvenience were they should be a public convenience. We older folks remember a time when public toilets were everywhere and not vandalised But, people have changed and discipline got lost somewhere.

There are pay as you pee toilets at Bull beck and Devils Bridge biking haunts , and the unwritten law is to jam the door open for the next biker. God knows what they think when it comes time to cash up.

Some places have changed the locks on disabled toilets because to many people have abused the RADAR scheme

The radar key only opens disabled loos , for the able bodied there is no lock on the door just a money slot.

Just nip into the nearest pub..
I think in Spain, its obligatory for bars to allow people to use their toilet facilities.
Tonker will either confirm or deny this

Basil there are more able bodied drivers/passengers who park on the FOOT path than disabled drivers/passengers.One of my neighbours has carers and they always park on the footpath usually at the front of my property

Basil there always has been drivers disabled or not who think any rules do not apply to them. Why are coaches allowed to park not only on yellow lines but also on a bend ? This happens on a daily bases outside Ashton Leisure Centre and complaints about this have been ignored

As to Tom's original post, it's far better what he did than seeing a full grown man peeing up a wall in public in full view. I saw a bloke do this some months ago - he said: "Sorry luv," and I told him that there was the back entrance to a pub 50 yards further down. Thing was, when he finished, he went down to said pub and went in. Not only disgusting, but also illegal!

I just remembered another incident. It was when I was going to the shop which used to be on Fleet Street years ago. There were two teenager lads and their girlfriends standing next to the post box. They were all giggling away and when they saw me they stopped right in front of me, but one of the lads had apparently been peeing up the post box and he still had his dangly bits out, which he showed me with a big grin. I stopped, looked him up and down and seriously said: "No thanks luv. I've smoked bigger cigars than that!" He went red and the girls started tittering their heads off, and I was then allowed to pass!

Basilbrush

But, what defines a disabled person when it comes to using public conveniences?
If an able bodied person had an operation and had to have their leg in plaster for 3 / 4 months, would they be classed as disabled so they can use the disabled toilets without it being frowned upon?

For goodness sake, a toilet is a toilet, for everyone's use!

Some toilets are not fit for purpose and they are that small you can barely get into them
