I'll tell thee what

It was piggin' freezing to day in that icy wind, My buddies and I did a 37 mile bike ride and . I was glad to get home, the weather drove home the fact that, Winter still has a grip on us,,,

That's a long ride, Tom, and you're right. It was very cold today with that wind biting through to the bones. Aye, winter is still with us, despite some lovely sunny days.

Trouble with bright sunny days though is the danger of the sun blinding you when you're driving. Wednesday and Thursday I could barely see a thing driving home as I was driving straight into the sun's path and, being very light sensitive as well now, it was scary.

I know, I know, but we are British and we enjoy having a good moan about the weather, no matter what it brings us!

you are right about the Low sun Mollie, its scary for us cyclists for reasons you described, we are vulnerable so need to be very aware of folks having
' blind spot' issues but, the fun and excitement of being free is unmeasurable , another exiting incident today was being attacked by a Swan, you would not believe the noise and intimidation a Swan can make if you get too close ,

Ooh, and they are big birdies as well and could do a lot of damage if one got hold of you. You must have scared it, maybe by being too close or invading its space.

Many years ago went on a holiday on the canals and a swan started to attack the boat Tried to do some jobs in the garden yesterday and ended up with a jacket on and thick gloves .It was not that cold except when you were in the wind and then it just bit into your body.Only did about 30 mins then came inside. There is always another day

Tom

As regards my earlier posting, which was "He keeps saying that I am a taxi driver"

I posted that on the wrong topic, your topic, and it was aimed at Basil, because he keeps accusing me of being a taxi driver, but I am not a taxi driver

Tek no notice of him APLS. I know who you're talking about, even though he is on Ignore. He's like a scratched record on permanent repeat. It's a shame really that he has nothing better to contribute than wind people up. It's probably what keeps him occupied during the day. How old will he be now? About 9 or 10?

The other day I was fitting a string of solar powered lights onto the pergola and ended up with wearing a thick pair of gloves because the wind was just numbing my hands and i was loosing my grip

Tom, Good to see you have a horn on the bike. How many times have I been walking along the canal bank. When out of the blue, some cyclist has whizzed past me. I dread to think what would have happened if I had just veered off course as he was passing me.. What is wrong with people these days?? When I had a bike I had a bell and lights, I think it was compulsory to have them? These days it appears it's compulsory for "some " bike riders to wear all black clothing and no lights. Especially at night Do these people have a DEATH WISH? If I were out on a bike at night (I don't like driving my car at night these days) But that's another grouse of mine.. I would ensure I looked like the guy at Blackpool Illuminations who has a suit full of lights.

Tom, it’s really none of anybody’s business what APLS does for a living, is it? We don’t “need” to know anything about anyone. If he doesn’t want to say, then that’s his prerogative as it’s personal. I thought he was, or had been a taxi driver at some point, but perhaps he isn’t any longer. It’s the same as when daft as a Brush was asking me a personal question about my private life and, when I did reply, it still didn't dawn on him that he was being intrusive. He probably still is, but I’ll never know now.

Judging by APLS’ latest comments earlier today, he’s still being badgered by daft as a Brush. He pesters AngelWood by accusing her of being Vixen, despite being a member here with at least five different names that I know of; has a go at you Tom for some of your videos; me; APLS; and whoever he homes in on. Ask him a personal/private question and I guarantee he’ll clam up.

We have to feel sorry for him in a way because he’s obviously got a condition known as Obsessive Fascination, perhaps undiagnosed. It’s quite an interesting subject. They need to be fed information as if they’re entitled to it because of their obsessive behaviour and, whoever doesn’t “bite”, they get frustrated with them. Keep replying, and he’ll keep pestering for answers. It's sad really. Get the picture now?

Hope you'll have it ready soon, Peter. You've worked hard at it. Any idea how to put a picture on here yet?

Yes Admin, I think they are on a death wish. I've lost count of how many I've almost mowed down through lack of illumination; and it's not just cyclists, it's pedestrians as well. So foolish.
