Who was it on ere who stated the erection of all these now defunct signs and posts relating to clean air zones was paid for by the E.U. ? On this morning's news it was reported that it has cost the RATE PAYERS OF G.M.C. 104 MILLION POUNDS....

Billinge Biker, by saying GMC I take it you mean Greater Manchester 'COUNTY', and not Greater Manchester 'Council' as the latter was abolished by the government in 1986, some 39 YEARS ago?

You would, of course, know that.

Actually, the Clean Air for Greater Manchester Combined Authority have said "all of the expenditure has been funded by central government".

Will these cameras now be used for ANPR or speed cameras Why pay to tale them down ,Signage yes not needed just ask the scrappers they can weigh them in

They've even got rid of the Wigan sign near my house and replaced it with Ashton in Makerfield. Huraaaaaayyyyy!
But the stuuuuuuupid Bryn sign is still up near Ashton library. That needs to go. It's stuuuuupid and whoever put it there is stuuuuuuuupider!

There are more than 3,700 ANPR cameras in place across the London ULEZ area.
Is Greater London not in the same country as Greater Manchester?
