Axel Rudakubana will serve a minimum of 52 years for the murders of Alice da Silva Aguiar, nine, Bebe King, six, and Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, and the attempted murder of eight other children in Southport.

As one person put it "I hope his days are long, and his nights are sleepless"
My sentiment also.

It was heartbreaking listening to the Judges comments on the events that happened. Which gladly weren't broadcast on the News Channels, I think the whole nation were in tears. Listening again to the events of that terrible day...

He will have to watch his back, not be long before his
first beating, even in solitory he is not safe, the other prisoners make his meals, and what goes in them, and over 50 years to put up with all this, excellent.
Replied: 23rd Jan 2025 at 19:58
Why keep him in prison at our expense when they put animals down for killing people?
Replied: 24th Jan 2025 at 09:03
That young murderer is quite obviously insane. I would have though the authorities would have recognised it immediately. They had enough information about his violent behaviour to warrant him being in a secure mental unit. But it's too late for that now and he's definitely in the right place now as he should have been long ago. And he's highly unlikely to ever be released and rightly so. And he's unlikely to live very to see those 52 years anyway.

Bring back the death penalty
Replied: 24th Jan 2025 at 16:01
I wouldn't bet against him being killed in prison.
Replied: 24th Jan 2025 at 16:02
Me neither, Tonker. He's already insane and they'll probably need to put him on suicide watch. One way or another I doubt he live long enough to serve those 52 years.

There’s NO WAY Axel Rudakubana’s parents didn’t know he was planning jihad.
Their house was LITTERED with weapons of terror, including arrows, ricin and blades. All on full display.

Yes, and then hack them off with a rusty saw.
I'm not religious in any shape or form, but I do believe in an eye for an eye, and sub-humans like that don't deserve the privilege of life after he's taken the lives of others.
I agree with Peter above.
Replied: 25th Jan 2025 at 21:21
I agree with all and. I cannot understand how any human person can defend this individual ,
He should be strunk up in a room and let the mothers of the children he killed free to do as they wish,,
Replied: 25th Jan 2025 at 21:48
Indeed, but even that wouldn't be punishment enough.
I just hope and pray that nobody on here calls him an animal, because animals don't do what he did to one of his own kind. He's a monster from hell.
Replied: 25th Jan 2025 at 22:43
You'd better not call him anything untoward, or else Mr Starmer might have you locked up for two years!
Replied: 25th Jan 2025 at 23:53
He can please his bleedin' self. There's still such a thing as freedom of speech in this country, as far as I know, and that young person probably won't last for too long with his fellow prisoners. They'll find a way of dealing with him, in their own way.

a case a couple of years ago a guy stabbed and murdered a young coupe walking home he went on and killed a milkman then knocked down a couple of pedestrians in court he said he heard voices in his head and said he was insane ,the judge sentenced him to a secure hospital he he would have his own room and would have 24 care. the judge said it was all he could do it was was the law
Replied: 26th Jan 2025 at 13:02
Surfer, pleading guilty by reason of insanity has to be proven beyond a doubt by an expert team of psychiatrists and psychologists and, if indeed that was the case, then the Judge couldn't do anything else but lock him up in a secure hospital, much like Ian Brady was.
It's not right and it's not fair, but that young thug will never see the light of day again outside the prison walls, so that's some cold comfort, but I still maintain that capital punishment be re-implemented in a case where there is no shadow of a doubt as to his guilt.
He said he heard voices in his head? Yeh, and I believe in fairies at the bottom of my garden, but it doesn't mean it's real.

not all the experts believed he was insane and the familly of the victims were shocked at the sentence they wanted him to get a fulll life sentence, the judge
had to consider what the experts say according to the
law if he did not do that then there would be a retrial
which would cost millions better outcome would be the gallows for them both
Replied: 26th Jan 2025 at 19:34
Agreed, but I think the gallows is a bit barbaric in this day and age. A lethal injection would be quicker and cheaper. The poor families of those youngsters will now have to live with the knowledge that he is still alive and, after a few months, prison will feel like home to him, unless other prisoners dole out their own kind of punishment.
Replied: 26th Jan 2025 at 20:14
They are never going to bring back capital punishment in this country.
And all this talk of cutting his bits and pieces off. I wonder if it came to it how many could carry it out. And if you could and would do it, it would make you no less barbaric.

Jathbee, If he had took my child,, I could and would take an eye for an eye for sure, no matter of race age or religion and i would be happy to meet my maker having done it, I think most, if not all of the parents will feel the same,

Correct, and the reason may be the fact that many of the increasing number of people who have come and are still coming in abundance to our country and who do not want to see a death penalty like they have in the counties from where they are coming are the one's who are committing most of the crimes of murder, rape and grooming etc!
Replied: 27th Jan 2025 at 07:52
I don't disagree, OC. But this particular heinous attack on those poor innocents could only have been perpetrated by a very sick mind. And there's no accounting for this kind of attack. Others are at fault too, they had him in their sights often enough for it to have been prevented.
Replied: 27th Jan 2025 at 13:19
I think the American Supermax prisons are the answer for convicts convicted of heinous crimes LINK
The cells including furniture are made of concrete, the prisoners are held in solitary confinement, and they excercise alone in a courtyard, and they live like that for the rest of their miserable lives, for me that is far worse than the death penalty.
