Summat Different.

Started by: Billinge Biker (2839)

Once a week I go down my lads...pick his dog up and take it for a good walk..lad finishes work...comes ours for his tea and takes his dog home. Today whilst out in't fields in darkest Billinge we came across a quagmire surrounded by a stream...trying to keep the dog clean I negotiated stream by a humongous leap. Landing on t'other side I knew I was in bother...legs akimbo slorring on't mud I went A*** over T** on the opposing bank. I managed a fully fledged forward roll getting covered in't mud..dog looked at me as though I'm soft.... The point of this episode is....I nettled mi'sel on both hands and five hours later it's still brunnin...how dos't get baht nettle stings...(No Doc leaves available) ?

Clumsy beggar!

Have you washed your hands in soap? Soap is an alkaline which will sooth the stings, or, use an ice pack on them.

If you can see the nettle stings, put some sticky tape on your hands to draw them out.

That'll be £50 per hand. Invoice is in the post.

Even the dog knows what you're like.
This is a 100% handbag thread , not general.

I slipped and went down last week on the ice whilst putting my bin out. I ended up with two broken finger nails and ruffled hair.
I did not post it on here. The reason being, nobody would be interested

If Admin can post a thread about football on General instead of Sports, then it's a free for all for folk to post wherever they want, surely?

Get out there and live your life, use it or lose it, The haters will always find fault in adventure seekers,,,

Of course they can.
No rules whatsoever on where you can post. Not as far as I'm aware?
Although it does not mean its necessarily in the right place.

Its like going into a supermarket in the laundry aisle hoping to find washing detergent, and then finding the shelves are stacked with loafs of bread.

cheshire cat I thought your comment was uncalled for. I enjoyed Billinge Biler's little tale of his walk. it was especially nice to read because he wasn't sniping at anyone else. Anyway I agree it won't be nettles in January..

The reason Eccleston Delph is listed as Chorley goes back to 1974. In a similar vein to Wigan becoming Wigan Metro, Chorley became Chorley District by merging with four urban and rural districts. Eccleston Delph is within the Chorley District area.

Thanks for that Gaffer but, I said chorley because of the Sign on their business poster and unlike our friend from Yickland, I'd no reason to doubt it

Tom, you believe what you want, but Gaffer is right, although wrong in this case.
In this case, we're not discussing local government and which place 'comes under' what council from 1974. Postal addresses do not correspond with local government.
Eccleston Delph is in Eccleston, Lancashire, PN7 5PR.

ie: NOT in Chorley!

Bla Bla Bla, The post code is Preston North 7, The postmon will not go to Liverpool or Ormskirk to deliver his mail, He/she will go to Chorley cos thats where it is,
Wake up man, this is 2025 not 1972

Yes, I know. PR is Preston. I just got carried away!

However, still on about it, laaaaike, Eccleston Delph is in Eccleston, regardless of that local government area it's in. I know Chorley and I know Eccleston and I know Heskin. They are all different places and they always will be.
Don't forget the importance of getting it right. "Send three and fourpence, we're going to a dance"!?

any road back to topic, Following BB's example of dog walking. I went round Carr Mill Dam for a walk with my Brothers dog, I heard a creak followed by a cracking sound and not too far away a tree fell to the ground,

I see the sense in that BB because, If you chop the yed off a venomouse snake, the fanks still hold the venom and if you were to stand on one, the fangs can still deliver a deadly injection, In Billinge Church at the cross roads near the Eagle and child lays a grave of man killed by an adder, Britain's only venomous snake, So beware of walking, its not as safe as you think

That dog's a lazy bugger, letting you carry it. You should make it walk!
