Table salt
On my travels around Ashton Leigh Wigan I have nipped into various shops/supermarkets looking for a tub of Table SALT and have been amazed at the price some of these shops are selling salt at. They range from £1-25 to £1-80 for 750Grams The cheapest I have found is Asda's own brand at 65p even this has tripled in price since the pandemic. Does any body know where I can buy shares in a salt company?

Imagine going home from work at the end of the week with a bag of salt.
Table salt now is mainly chemicals at our house we are using a posh pink salt which is more salty so you don't need as much.

It's all in your head. Salt is salt. I hate it!
There's nothing worse than ordering a nice piece of steak at a restaurant and, when it comes, it's full of salt crystals. "Well, it enhances the flavour", they say. "Bollox"! I say. "It's ruined"!!
Salt Off!

Himalayan pink salt retails for £1.09 for 750g at B&M's well within reach of any salt connoisseur.

We don't shop at your B&Ms, not that we don't mind a bargain, it's because we don't care for the layouts of their stores, their staff and their customers
And most of what they sell is low-grade stuff.

I don't shop at Harrods or Selfridge's, don't like the pretentious customers!

Mick shops at Booths in Burscough. But he only buys a packet of biscuits. Then he calls at Aldi's on the way home and packs his Aldi stuff into Booths carrier bags!

He’s just a wind up merchant like Tonker.

I shop any where if the price is right for the same product why pay £1-35 a litre for petrol when down the road it is £1-29 a litre. Why pay £7-75 for a jar of coffee when another shop is selling the same coffee for £6I used to shop at Sainsburys but will walk 100yds further and go into B&M

Cheshire is steeped in salt mining history. The Romans loved it! One of the largest producers of rock salt is mined in Winsford.
The Lion Salt Works in Northwich about 25 minutes drive from Altrincham is steeped in heritage due to its previous production of salt. It is now an award winning visitor attraction with a range of activities going on.
I don't know if they are on the stock market, though, Peter

It is the UK's largest rock salt mine.
"How many tons " per-man-shift of large producers of rock salt do they mine in Winsford, "
I have no idea?
I suggest you contact the compass minerals managing director. He / she may be able to answer your query

Tonker when I went on my visit they extracted the salt by the pillar and stall method. I am led to believe they now also drill into the salt from the surface and use water to turn it into a brine and pump it out.
