What about Boris
He wouldn't have taken the winter fuel allowance away from pensioners, and he doesn't think much about what Rachel is doing either.

I think he should do a ' Donald trump' and get back into a candidate for PM, he would Pizz it easily I'm not a tory but, taking our winter fuel truly showed Stormmers colours,

Rachel, having worked in Threadneedle Street is more a Tory than a Commie!
And with what's gone on in the last six months, I suspect that there are many more in the country saying "Come back Boris, all is forgiven"

A notice I saw in my local chemist's shop
- Prescription Tax.
It's about time the United Kingdom became more United in things like footing the bills. Them Jocks should fund 'their' royal family for a start!
And that 'prescription statement' I linked to above tells a lie. It tries to make out that the government get 100% of the £9.90 prescription charge / tax, saying that "the money collected 'does not help' to fund this pharmacy". However, I'm told by an ex-manager of a Boots branch that a couple of years ago they got £1.38 from every item charged for on each prescription. So, what did they use that for? Funding their staff Christmas party?
There was talk the other day of stopping the prescription charge waiver for over 60's.
The English government are doing a bit of frauding on that one too. It'll all end up in a fight, it always does!

Have you ever been in a pharmacy that does prescription. only. Boots for instance sell other things. That's where their income comes from. Prescription dispensing is part of their income.

Chemists get paid for every prescription they dispense, thats why they advertise for more people to use their shop, and most will deliver free,so they must get decent pay for every prescription.
Replied: 12th Jan 2025 at 13:25
The chemists fee for prescription items is in two parts.
A base fee of £1.38 plus an additional fee as listed in the NHS Drug Tarriff. The latter is updated monthly.

Domin0 I think even though they say they will deliver for FREE they can then bill the NHS for this No body does anything for nowt

Boris also said he would build 40 new hospitals if you voted for brexit.
Boris also made the covid lockdown rules for us, then decided , they didn't apply to him and proceeded to have partys in Downing Street
and was quoted as saying "the events in question were within the guidance and were within the rules”.
Boris also misled parliament by failing to tell MPs about his own knowledge of rule breaking parties in Downing Street.
What Boris says he is going to do, and what Boris decides to do, are poles apart.
Would you trust this person?

Silly Puss
Did Boris get the 'chance' to build those hospitals ?
It was the Civil Service who were having the parties in Downing Street, they had told Boris that it was allowed under the rules those same Civil Servants had drawn up to combat the Covid pandemic and they were wrong.
Do you trust Kier Starmer ?

Yes. His tory government did.
"It was the Civil Service who were having the parties in Downing Street, they had told Boris that it was allowed"
Boris made the rules!
"Do you trust Kier Starmer ?"
I'll not judge the man after only 6 months in power who inherited a toxic chalice.
Let him clean the mess up first, that the previous shower left behind

You are probably right in that Labour will be in power till the end of the five year parliament, but what state will the country be in by then ?

Better than what it was , I imagine!
Lets face it. Surely it could not get any worse than the last 14 years of tory rule!
Time will tell

What world are you in when like many others you think that the present lot are any different than the previous lot in carrying out promises which they never keep.
As for the last election, it was more a case in the eyes of the electorate of getting rid of the previous lot who as APLS has put it, Just "having a drink and a piece of cake" rather than wanting the new lot in what is a out of date voting system of just two major parties running a cartel with other parties never having a chance of ever becoming the government!
