There are enough Brownfield sites without encroaching onto Green field sites. With all this new building of houses or industrial units (which are not really needed)how many new hospitals schools doctors dentist and other health clinics are going to be built to take the influx of home owners. How many new major roads are also going to be built to take the extra cars. Has we have seen over the last few week most of the drainage system requires updating and enlarging because there is for what ever reasons large scale flooding through out the country.not just localised flooding .How many streets in the borough have open spaces were there once houses but most building firms will not touch these areas because they are too small.

Councils are no longer interested in any control of house building as the more houses are built, the more they get in Council Tax and the govenment get in taxation from those building the houses and suppliers of materials.

Why do we need all this house building on the excuse of a shortage of housing when all over the country, there are thousands of empty houses, pubs which can be made into flats etc. 14,000 in the Wigan Borough which is only one of seventy odd boroughs in the country.

It's now all about making money and not neccessay now by the developers and people wanting to live in a large detached 3/4/5/6 bedroom house in the belief that it is a status symbol in live!
