WIGAN A&E.... CHAPEAU

Started by: admin (1820)

One A&E experience with a happy ending. I went to see the Doc yesterday about a swelling on my lower right leg. I banged it two weeks ago. when I went on a short 5 day break, to my favourite UK place BOURNEMOUTH. As I was getting on the coach after a day trip. I remember banging it on the step getting on the coach. But never thought anymore about it Just a bit sore When we got back home after a few days it started to swell and became VERY painful After a week it was getting worse so I went to the Docs yesterday. Who examined it and said he was sorry but I would need to go to A&E for an XRay. After raising from my kneeling/praying position and wiping the tears from my eyes I pleaded with him with a £20 note in my hand asking if I could go to the LInacre Centre instead. ( My daughter and grandson have both been in A&E at Wigan in the last fortnight My daughter for a broken ankle and my grandson for what turned out to be cellulitis. He was in A&E for 72 hours sat on a chair before they discharged him ... They say things come in threes).
The doctor said they wouldn't Xray it there!!! So off I went up to A&E Parked my car in Lord Street at 3.00pm and was getting back into my car at.......5.00pm the same day!!!! I was expecting it would be 5.00am the next day, i.e. today. I think it was due to the doctor writing a letter to the A&E dept stating I needed to be seen URGENTLY so When I logged in at the the A&E reception desk I was sent to the CHRISTOPHER HOME who sorted me out TRIAGE. XRAY. and PRESCRIPTION for Antbiotics in less than 2 hours.... I have what is called an Hematoma, Pretty common but painfull.
