I'm with First mate and can't abide Halloween with shops full of plastic tat. it goes beyond a bit of fun when parents feel pressured to decorate the house and buy costumes [ nobody does hand made with a bit of crepe paper anymore]. Is there a halloween equivalent to Bah Humbug?

Not many skeletons around these days and I'm sure ashes won't do at all

I drove past a house earlier today, the garden was decorated with all things Halloween. Must have cost a fortune. The cat was real though

How much of the flimsy tat is still in one piece after the high winds into the early hours of today If it was not anchored down then the household would find it had gone missing or just a big heap in the garden.I went up Wigan Lane to Standish last night and there was a plastic chair sliding across the road from someones garden.

what puzzles me is that when granny dies we tell children it's OK because she has gone to live with the anglels or has turned into a star. Then Halloween we are dressing these same children as skeletons, ghosts and zombies.
