A little poser.

Hi all. Got a little poser for you: If a person stands EXACTLY on the North, or South pole, what time is it?

The truth is there is no standard time zone on the North Pole and South Pole . Travelers who visit these locations can choose any time zone they want (UTC, EST, etc).. Some prefer the nearest time zone possible while others use the Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). This time zone marks the starting point of every time zone you can find on the map.

You're right First Mate. It's mad though. You could have one foot in one time zone and the other foot in another. Who said there was no such thing as time-travel? Hee Hee.

If you go to Greenwich you can stand with your feet in two time zones straggling a brass plate

Done that Peter, didn’t feel any odd sensation at all. Just thought I should check it also separates east from west.

I've done the Greenwich bit a couple of times.
For three years, I used to fly over the equator every two weeks, and the airline (Japanese) used to present the passengers with a certificate.
Also, when I was working offshore Point Noir in the French Congo, our location was very near 00.00 00.00 because of the Meriden and the equator lines crossing.
