First mate
You are spot one. All tv reporters -both sexes -
should be made to
wear one.
Fed up of watching them trying to keep the hair out of their faces

I've thought that when watching cookery programmes. Some of them are there cooking and their hair is dangling in their eyes, and I wonder how they manage to keep rogue strands of hair out of their food.

Hairnets are not very fashionable, nor attractive, but nobody wants to find hairs in their mashed potato.

Under catering regulations, a hat or a snood is supposed to be worn on the head when cooking for other people.

It appears that the regulations do not apply to television cooking programmes where some do not even wear a apron.

Tommy, shurrup about Ena Sharples.

Owd Codger, that's right. Even in some/most shops that sell open food, like pies, wear some form of headwear to keep the hair off the food, but I suppose they're not cooking for the public. Even so .....

Its our history Mollie, the TV makers flattered us by replicating our way of life and accents , We have something that is, raw and real and its time proven to be addictive,
Programs like , Dallas did't stand the test of time because, Its not real , In all the years Dallas went for, no one ever went on a lavy

Violet Carson was not only an good actress on Coronation Street but also a very talented pianist and singer who just after the second world war worked with Wilfred Pickles on the radio show "Have a go Joe" which visited works canteens.

She got the part of Ena Sharples from being a friend of Tony Warren, the creator of Coronation Street following the ending of the radio show.
