It appears that there is a increase in the number of properties now displaying a Union Jack!

I wonder why!

It used to be the case that council permission was required to erect a flagpole at the front of a property....don't know about back gardens .

BB you can erect a flag pole up to 4.5 metre without planning permission any where on your property

The shop in the Weind is still there, Standards. If your flying the Union flag make sure it's the right way up, otherwise it's a sign of distress, and you need assistance.

On visiting the shop up the Wiend I was told to go online for "ensign flags" but their cheapest polyester flag was £38 . You can get at least six for that price on Amazon

Not been flying any flags for a few days now due to the rope sticking to the pole (I wrap it round the pole when not in use)with the frost plus there has been no wind so again the flag would just stick to the poleLast flag I bought was the old Lancashire flag red rose on a white background don't like the new colours which is a red rose on a golden yellow background When I get to fly a flag it will be the England flag not flown it for a few weeks
