The music was originally scored for solo piano, then later for orchestral performance.

But the familiar version associated with Alfred Hitchcock is Bernard Herrmann's arrangement of the piece: less gentle and transposed up a third to render it rather more dramatic. Bernard Herrmann was extremely skilled at such like composition.

Hitchcock himself has said he thought that a third of the dramatic tension attained in his productions is attributable to Herrmann's music.

So today, we oft see remakes of films that were successful for Hitchcock, but without Herrmann's music.

And people express surprise when they flop.

Pigeons aren’t mentioned specifically on the Council website, but I think that’d come under: ‘Failure to comply with a street litter control notice’ - www.wigan.gov.uk

What sort of numbskull feeds birds with bread anyway? It kills them.

A few SPARROW HAWKS will do very nicely .clear all the trash away !

A Sparrow Hawk wouldn't be able to do what a pigeon named Cher Ami did ...look it up.

Better off with Peregrine falcons.

I've seen them being use to keep airport runways clear.
