Anyone familiar with training a dog to shush?
Not talking about quelling excessive barking.
When the dog has pricked up its ears, risen to its feet, and looks at you. You both know it has detected something untoward.
How best to stop dog now giving any alarm bark, so that you do not lose the element of surprise as you further investigate.
