Vote Labour!
"For reasons which have never been properly explained, Labour instigated a policy of massive expansion of immigration.
The fear must be a future Labour government would do the same’. Sir Andrew Green, chairman of the Migrationwatch think-tank, said 90 per cent of immigrants to the UK headed to England"

more fun A mother who stabbed her baby daughter with a kitchen knife has won the right to stay in Britain – so she can stay in touch with the girl she tried to kill. The woman was jailed for five years for attempting to murder her daughter when the girl was just eight months old. After completing her jail sentence she was due to be deported to her home country of Bangladesh. A judge ruled it would be ‘very cruel’ to stop her from seeing the child. She won her case using Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights – the right to a private and family life.

Hundreds of pregnant foreigners are flying to Britain just days before they give birth so that they can receive free healthcare courtesy of the NHS, a report has found. The women are duping airlines - who normally forbid expectant mothers more than 36 weeks pregnant to fly - so they can receive the free service. Expectant mothers trick airlines in their home countries into letting them fly by showing staff forged doctors notes which conceal the length of their pregnancies. Most of the women who arrive at NHS hospitals then have to be admitted and allowed to give birth, the report found, because their pregnancies were too advanced for them to fly home. The average cost of a birth with no complications and one night's stay in an NHS hospital is £1,092. Immigration officials at one airport stopped more than 300 such health tourists over two years, the Sunday Telegraph reported. The revelations follow a worrying report in October, that warned that foreign visitors and short-term migrants cost the NHS £2billion a year It concluded the Health Service has ‘the most generous rules in the world’.

HWP I beg to differ on the assumption that children born here have automatic citizenship... they do not... In the USA they do. At least the last time I researched this it stood.
Replied: 29th Dec 2013 at 15:39
Sue is absolutely right , they cannot be given British citizenship unless their parents are British citizens or the parents have indefinite leave to stay here.
I have always welcomed anyone to our shores, however its beyond ridiculous that we welcome so many at tax payers expense, and the fact that so many are now living on the streets. We cannot provide for them so should shut the door and keep it shut till we deal with those who are already here .
Replied: 29th Dec 2013 at 15:55
You could be right HWP, but its a grey area
Under current law, [1] a child born in the UK after 1 January 1983 will only acquire British nationality if either his/her mother or father is:
A British citizen; or
Settled in the UK (i.e. has Indefinite Leave to Remain)
It used to be the case that only legitimate children could derive nationality from their (British) father, i.e. the father had to be married to mother in order to pass his nationality to the child. This is no longer the case following an amendment to the law which came into force on the 1st of July 2006 [2]. For more information see Question 10 ‘Does the child of an asylum seeker who has a British parent automatically acquire British citizenship?’
What does ‘settled in the UK’ mean?
'Settled' means ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom without being limited under the immigration laws as to how long the person can stay here.
Whether a person is ordinarily resident or not depends on the facts of the case. A person who is not restricted under the immigration laws as to the period for which s/he may remain is probably ordinarily resident if s/he:
Has been living in the United Kingdom for a number of years, without being absent, except for short holidays; and
Is in the United Kingdom legally (without being in breach of the immigration laws).
Long periods of absence from the United Kingdom (for more than a year, for example) may mean that a person is not ordinarily resident. Shorter periods of absence may also, in some circumstances, mean that a person is no longer ordinarily resident (for example, if he or she left the United Kingdom intending to live abroad permanently)

Leeds council said increased pressures on housing could lead to growing homelessness, and that both Bulgaria and Romania had high levels of diseases such as tuberculosis, mumps, measles and rubella. Manchester City Council highlighted concerns over its Roma community, saying there were high rates of truancy and teenage pregnancy. Residents also complained that Roma households ‘appeared to enjoy a comfortable lifestyle without appearing to work’.
Despite the fears, virtually no councils have drawn up plans to deal with the expected influx of Romanians and Bulgarians. One exception was Kent, which estimated that the new arrivals could cost it £3 million in extra services, including 390 extra primary school places.

""Settled" status in this context usually means the parent is resident in the United Kingdom and has the right of abode, holds Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), or is the citizen of an EU/EEA country and has permanent residence,"
That means if a pregnant EU citizen comes here having the right to stay and claim benefit their child will gain British citizenship.

More British workers will ‘lose out’ from the influx of cheap labour from Romania and Bulgaria, Ed Miliband has admitted. The Labour leader insisted it was not ‘prejudiced’ to believe that growing numbers of low-skilled migrants from the European Union would add to the problem of low pay and poor job security. Days after restrictions on workers from eastern Europe were lifted, Mr Miliband also called for a legal loophole to be closed which allows British workers to pay foreign workers less. rom the start of 2014 curbs workers from Romania and Bulgaria coming to Britain have been lifted, raising fears of a fresh influx of cheap labour under-cutting people who already live in the UK.

Tell me something new!! The BBC made a ‘terrible mistake’ by not reflecting the public’s concerns about immigration, its political editor has admitted. Nick Robinson said that during Labour’s years in government, BBC executives feared an uncensored debate about the issue would stoke racism.
As a result, viewers’ concerns about pressure on jobs and wages, and cultural tensions were not aired as the BBC ‘had decided these are not acceptable views – and that was a terrible mistake’.
Replied: 6th Jan 2014 at 09:59
" BBC executives feared an uncensored debate about the issue would stoke racism"
Thats not for them to decide. The BBC is a new organisation you cannot trust to tell the truth.
The REAL problem was not that the "news" would stoke racism but the government policies that created that "news" because without those policies that "news" wouldn't happen.
This is what DEMOCRACY is all about, its fundemental. Tell the people the truth and let them decide what they want. No, Labour were and are on a hidden ideological crusade.

The BBC has been biased for years now. It is pretty clear to me that the BBC is generally pro immigration and is loathed to criticise the last New Labour governments 'Blairite approach' to the issue. So it is no surprise that they gave blanket coverage to a report last month, by Christian Dustmann and Tommaso Frattini from the UCL, which said immigration had made a substantial contribution to the public finances. However yesterday Mervyn Stone a senior statistician at the UCL said the report contained some basic schoolboy errors. The BBC has a duty to be impartial and not only balanced but check out information BEFORE they broadcast.

The taxpayer has spent £20million in four years on translators for foreigners on benefits, it emerged today. The majority of non-UK citizens held for crimes in the county have come from Eastern Europe - particularly Lithuania and Poland, the figures for 2012 to 2013 reveal. The Home Office, one of the departments hit hardest by the Chancellor’s spending cuts, is quietly siphoning off around £10million a year. The cash, which is enough to put 200 police officers on the streets, would otherwise have to be found from the department’s own budget.

Never! BRITAIN is facing an asylum hangover from the Olympics with dozens of foreign athletes refusing to leave. Flag-bearer Weynay Ghebresilasie was one of four Eritreans to claim asylum after the Olympics Fewer than half the competitors who claimed asylum in 2012 won the right to stay. But 18 months on only one in four of those without leave to remain has been sent packing. Of the 82 Olympians, coaches and other back-room staff applying to stay after the London Games, 40 were granted refugee status. Just 10 of the remaining 42 were put on planes back home while the rest are either on the run, fighting legal battles against deportation or still waiting for a first decision. The delays are costing UK taxpayers hundreds of thousands of pounds to support the athletes and fund their legally aided appeals. Home Office figures show asylum applications were submitted by 82 Olympic visa holders, just 10 of whom have been removed.

In the under-fives age group there are nearly twice as many people identified as Muslim as in the general population, census data reveals. The figures suggest a change in the UK’s younger generation of worshippers as less than 0.5 per cent of over 85s in Britain identify as Muslim. People in this country no longer wish to be Christian. Fact! Look at the churches around you, they sell furniture now or used as warehousing. I hear that wearing an crucifix is deemed wrong because it may upset other religions, bollocks! They are not worn as a sign of Christianity anymore now, just as jewellery. So why complain when others of another faith follow their religion with devotion, and I don't just mean Islam. We love to wring our hands in this country and blame others for taking our way of life from us, we are giving it away and have been doing it for many, many years. How many of you on here who are complaining about Islam and Muslims actually are devout Christians?

The point is this. If you and the rest of the athiests DONT CARE A TOSS then that void will be filled by people who DO CARE A TOSS and that will be Muslims. Islam will become this countries religion by default and they will not have had to do anything.
Lets see what you say when that leads to areas ruled by Sharia law ..... it could be yours.

He came to Britain six years ago and since then has abandoned his Muslim faith. Now the Home Office have granted him refugee status, because he says he will face persecution if sent home. His lawyers say it is the first time anyone has been given asylum on religious grounds who is an atheist. I reckon that half the middle east will soon be atheists!

UKIP leader Nigel Farage has called for immigrants to be barred from receiving any benefits until they have been resident in the UK for five years. He also suggested they should not be eligible for tax credits. It comes as a survey suggests 77% of Britons want to see immigration cut. The coalition brought in a three month ban on EU citizens getting out-of-work benefits ahead of work restrictions being lifted for Bulgarians and Romanians on 1 January. But Mr Farage, whose party fought the last election on a policy of halting immigration for five years, said the government should go much further. He said the cost of migrants claiming in-work welfare payments, such as child benefit, housing benefit and tax credits, had not been factored in to the government's calculations. "We must be completely mad, as a country, to be giving people from Eastern Europe in-work benefits," he told BBC News. And he said lower economic growth was a price worth paying for cutting immigration. "Even if I thought, which I don't, there was an economic benefit to mass immigration some things are more important than money, namely the shape of our society and giving our own youngsters a chance to work."

todays telegraph Ten years of record immigration to Britain has produced virtually no economic benefits for the country, a parliamentary inquiry has found. A House of Lords committee, which is due to report next Tuesday, will call into question Government claims that foreign workers add £6 billion each year to the wealth of the nation. It is expected to say this must be balanced against the increase in population and their use of local services such as health and education, resulting in little benefit per head of the population. "Our overall conclusion is that the economic benefits of net immigration to the resident population are very small and close to zero in the long run," the report will say. The findings of the Lords economics committee threaten to demolish the key argument made by ministers to justify the highest levels of immigration in the country's history.

An elderly woman was left on the floor at a care home for up to ten minutes because a nurse was praying, an inquest heard. Alzheimer's sufferer Dorothy Griffiths, 87, was found sitting down after staff heard a bang and a carer went to the office for help to lift her. But agency nurse Abdul Bhutto, who was in charge, said they would have to wait. Carer Zoe Shaw told the Sheffield hearing: "It took between five and ten minutes because he was praying upstairs in the office on his prayer mat. A staff member told me we had to wait for him to finish." She died later in hospital. Mr Bhutto failed to appear at the inquest and a summons had to be issued for him to attend the resumed hearing later in the year.

You should see what the white Anglo Saxon carers do to their own.......
Three nursing home staff have been jailed and a fourth given a community sentence for tormenting and abusing elderly residents with dementia, actions described by the trial judge as "gratuitous sport at the expense of vulnerable victims".
The court heard residents at Hillcroft nursing home in Slyne-with-Hest, Lancashire, were pelted with bean bags, mocked and bullied on the assumption their condition meant they would not remember the abuse. One man's foot was deliberately stamped on and another was nearly tipped out of his wheelchair.
During the sentencing hearing at Preston crown court the son of one resident said the family viewed the decision to place him at Hillcroft as the "worst of our lives" and believed managers covered up the incidents.
The judge, Michael Byrne, said the actions of Darren Smith, 35, Carol Ann Moore, 54, Katie Cairns, 27, and Gemma Pearson, 28, were "an indictment" of the home's managers.
He said: "Much evidence in the trial revealed that there was, at the relevant times, a lax regime with weak and inadequate management on the unit which allowed the kind of conduct to carry on undetected and without proper and adequate control." He added: "Some of the offences were gratuitous sport at the expense of vulnerable victims."
Smith, who admitted eight counts of ill-treating people with impaired mental capacity, was jailed for eight months. The other three staff were found guilty of the same offence in November. Cairns was jailed for five months and Moore for four months. Pearson was given a 12-month community order and told to carry out 40 hours of unpaid work.
The offences took place between May 2010 and September 2011, when a receptionist and a cleaner told managers that Moore had struck a resident, and raised other concerns. The four were suspended, but later reinstated with warnings.
Managers decided there was insufficient evidence to mount a wider investigation or pass on the complaints to social services, the court heard. When local authority staff visited the home, managers did not mention the staff suspensions.
Later, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) received anonymous emails about the home. The four were arrested in October 2012 when Lancashire County Council told police about the complaints and a full inquiry began.
Initially, all the defendants insisted they had done nothing wrong, blaming office politics and cliques among staff.
After the sentencing Detective Chief Inspector Andy Hulme described the actions as "utterly contemptible". He said: "I would once again like to take this opportunity to commend those members of staff who displayed great courage and decency in speaking out against this despicable behaviour. This couldn't have been an easy thing for them to do, but what I must emphasise is the families' gratitude towards them for coming forward."
Michael Rowlinson, whose father, Norman, was placed in Hillcroft because he had Alzheimer's, read a statement from the witness box. He said: "We had feelings of guilt for not being able to look after him. Our feelings of guilt only worsened when we found out that Dad had been subjected to humiliation and ill-treatment by those who were trusted to care for him.
"We feel angry this could have been allowed to happen to Dad and sorry that Mum had to learn about it."
Judge Byrne said three common themes emerged from the statements given by families.
He said: "In each and every case the victim's family trusted the home to look after their relative. Secondly, many of the families felt a sense of guilt of having to give up the care of one of their family to be cared for by strangers. And thirdly, the anger and resentment at the trust being betrayed."

A new analysis of benefit figures has revealed that a newly arrived 'asylum seeker' with three children can claim more in benefits per month than a British pensioner. If the “asylum seeker” or refugee has more dependents, the amount of benefits rises proportionally. Currently, the basic state pension for a single British person is £95.25 a week. This rises to £152.30 for a couple. Whether they get this full amount depends on how many national insurance contribution years they have completed. The basic pension is lower than the income support threshold, so if they have no other income, state pensioners can top up with income support. This comes in the form of a means-tested Pension Credit which brings the weekly amount up to £130 for a single person and £198.45 for a couple. 'Asylum seekers', on the other hand, get £40 per week for gas and electricity and another £35 per week per person towards food, clothing and toiletries. This means that an 'asylum seeker' family of four gets £140 for food and another £40 for gas and electricity, brining their total to £180 in one week

billyh,

Bill It is the child benefit scheme which is the real goldmine for asylum seekers. 'Asylum-seeker' lone parent benefits are £42.16 per week, with £50 per week per child. A single 'asylum seeker' with three children will automatically qualify for cash payments of £192.16 per week, almost the same as a British pensioner couple. This is however just the straight cash grant. In addition to this money, 'asylum seekers' with dependents also qualify for further subsidies as per the list above, which pushes their real income way above that given to British pensioners. Finally, 'asylum seekers' are entitled to register with a local GP and receive services from the NHS, all courtesy of the taxpayer.

A woman made legal history yesterday as she stood trial in a full face veil.
Rebekah Dawson, 22, became the first defendant to wear the covering at court after a judge ruled ‘freedom of religious expression’ should be recognised.
District Judge Peter Murphy told jurors that Dawson had a right to wear a niqab during the trial but that she would have to remove it if she wanted to give evidence. He ruled: ‘The courts must respect and protect religious rights as far as that can possibly be done. ‘But in my view, it is necessary to the working of the crown court in a democratic society for the court, not the defendant to control the conduct of judicial proceedings.’ At Blackfriars Crown Court yesterday, Dawson argued that forcing her to remove the veil to give evidence violated her right to a fair trial under the European Convention on Human Rights. But Judge Murphy rejected the application, saying that jurors being unable to see her was contrary to the principle of open justice which overrides religious belief.

The wife of a Kosovar deported from Switzerland will have to go with him, the Federal Court in Lausanne ruled on Friday. It refused to extend to her a law which in certain cases allows a foreign wife to stay in Switzerland even if her husband must leave. The Federal Court explained that if a couple is married, a wife cannot remain in Switzerland when her residence permit depends on that of her husband, who has to leave the country. The Kosovar in question arrived in Switzerland in 1993 at the age of ten. In 2006, he was sentenced to 21 months in prison. In 2008, he got married and went on to commit various offences. In 2011, canton Lucerne revoked his residence permit and then refused to extend that of his wife. The Federal Court thus confirmed this decision by canton Lucerne. It refused to extend to her a clause under the foreigners act which allows wives who are victims of domestic violence to be able to stay in Switzerland – on condition that they have separated or divorced. The issue of what to do with foreigners who break the law is a hot issue in Switzerland.
In November 2013, cabinet urged parliament to strike a clause in an initiative calling for the automatic deportation of foreigners found guilty of a crime.

Migrants would be forced to pay a £2,000 bond to enter Britain to cover the cost of them claiming benefits and using services, Nick Clegg's favourite think tank said today. The National Insurance Advance would be paid by anyone from outside the EU and would only be refunded once they have paid enough tax or left the country without becoming a drain on the welfare state. The radical report for CentreForum, written by a Lib Dem policy adviser, will heap pressure on Mr Clegg to go further in promising tougher action to deal with immigration.

That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay: 10
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed--and gazed--but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood, 20
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.
I doubt you will ever see this England again!

A judge has described the UK’s borders as 'a leaking sieve' after an illegal immigrant drug dealer was deported three times only to return each time to commit more crimes.
Albanian national Baksim Bushati, 37, was sentenced to seven years in prison after he was found to have almost 1kg of cocaine worth £26,875 and £14,000 in cash at his home.
Since 2005, he has been sentenced to prison terms totalling nearly five years for offences of violence, battery and possessing false identification. Despite being deported from the UK following each jail term, he returned to commit more crimes. Yesterday, Judge Richard Bray criticised the Government as he sentenced Bushati to his latest prison stretch, saying the UK’s borders 'leaked like a sieve.'These things make a classic study for people who want to see if the Home Office and the Border Agency are doing their jobs properly,' the judge told Northampton Crown Court.

shoud come round my street Three religious vigilantes who terrorised innocent members of the public as the self-styled ‘Muslim Patrol’ have been banned from promoting Sharia Law in Britain. Jordan Horner, 20, Royal Barnes, 23, and Ricardo MacFarlane, 26, were jailed for a total of two years and ten months for touring East London harassing people they deemed to be ‘non-believers’. The three men were today also slapped with a five-year Asbo banning them from distributing material about Sharia Law to the public, or even meeting each other. The trio are also banned from associating with controversial preacher Anjem Choudary.
Judge Timothy Pontius admitted the order was ‘drastic’ but added: ‘With the public interest in mind and the safety of individual members of the public in particular, it seems to me essential that these orders should be granted to run for that period of time.’ The leader of the gang, white Muslim convert Horner, who has declared he wants Sharia law in the UK, attacked people drinking in the street and demanded: ‘Remove yourselves now. Muslim Patrol.’ Barnes is a pal of Lee Rigby murderer Michael Adebolajo, and last week admitted making a string of sickening videos celebrating the deadly attack on the soldier in Woolwich.

Everyone is responsible for what they post and that will be ok by some but not others. I know this much its very easy to be liberal when you dont live with it day by day.

There are wrong doings on both sides but it does no good keep instilling one sided ill feelings into people. Billy was telling people "To fight it and fight it hard". Now what is that supposed to mean? That kind of language is not helpful when we have to live side by side. He has not had one positive thing to say about either immigrants or Muslims.
A lot of them make a positive contribution to our society. I wonder how many have been treated by immigrant doctors, nurses and dentists? But no mention of these whatsoever. It's all about how evil they are.

The crucial witness in a deportation case had her entire face, apart from her eyes, covered by a niqab. Farcically, a judge was left trying to check her identity using a visa document with a photograph of her unveiled. He had to peer at the small visible portion of her face in the vain hope of working out if it matched the picture. The immigration tribunal’s decision has been quashed by a senior judge, who said it was procedurally unfair. A new hearing will now take place. tis cannot be write

we are doomed Rudi Ion struggles to count up the children from his huge Romanian clan who now call Britain home. It could be 100, he tells me. ‘I’ve got 25 cousins all living around Nottingham, each with three or four kids,’ he adds with a loud laugh This week, the EU Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion, Laszlo Andor, attacked the so-called xenophobia of British politicians over the issue of migrants coming to Britain and claiming welfare. He grandiosly announced: ‘Benefits tourism as such is a myth.’Yet Rudi readily admits that our generous benefits’ culture does encourage Romanians to uproot to the UK, where they can claim state money for the children they bring with them.‘Your benefits system is crazy — I would actually say it was sick,’ he says, as he makes a gesture involving sticking his two fingers down his throat. ‘I came to Nottingham to stay with a cousin and found a good private accountant who told me how to claim the benefits. I soon brought over my family, too.‘I have never been told to look for work by the job centre. I have never called back there after I got the National Insurance number. Why would I want a real boss when I get £300 put into my bank account each week for nothing? ‘There is the child benefit of £170 a month for Ionut and Constantin, too. In Romania, we were only given £17 a month for them. Now I sing “God praise your Queen Elizabeth” every day, because we have arrived in heaven.

is this a joke no christians allowed Legoland has been hired out to a radical Muslim cleric for a ‘Family Fun Day’. Maybe that’s ‘Fun’ as in ‘Fundamentalism’. The theme park in Windsor, Berkshire, has accepted a booking from a man said to be among the top 25 hate preachers in Britain. Haitham al-Haddad leads the Muslim Research and Development Foundation, which is based in Tower Hamlets, and is in favour of turning this country into a Sharia state.
Legoland Windsor: Al-Haddad is an enthusiastic supporter of Taliban policies, believes that Jews are ‘descended from apes and pigs’, homosexuals are criminals and those who leave Islam should be killed. Usama Hasan, of the moderate, anti- terrorism think tank, the Quilliam Foundation, said: ‘Like all extreme Islamists, he uses fascist language about non-Muslims and refuses to sit at the same table as women.’
Al-Haddad’s repugnant views are as abhorrent to mainstream Muslims as they are to the rest of us and have led to him being banned but not Legoland. On March 9, a convoy of coaches will set off from the East London Mosque in Whitechapel for a day of ‘Halal entertainment’. We’re not talking the Jolly Boys’ Outing to Margate here!

KATIE Hopkins was at the centre of a number of heated debates about border controls on The Big British Immigration Row: The opinionated columnist said that hard working Britons have "had enough" of the immigration issue and Britain tackles the topic with a "soft touch". The ex-Apprentice star said the country's schools and hospitals are "full" and that the UK should only let in "tier one" individuals who are skilled. Talking about the issue on the Channel 5 programme, Mrs Hopkins said: "Nobody is standing up for the people at home who have had enough of immigration. "Of queuing for school places, at doctors. Frankly, if you need an interpreter to get a doctor's appointment you shouldn't be using our NHS. "If you need an interpreter then you need a travel agent and should get packing. "Hard working people in this country have had enough."

Not so much a TV debate, as full time pro-immigration activists on one side (with their own microphone though, so a bit of bias there!), and anti-immigration people having to shout to be heard over the raucous din of the 'let them all in brigade'. As usual the pro-immigrant activists used their loud voices to drown out any real chance of debate, but on that program, there wasn't going to be any. Usual farce, usual outcome. Katie Hopkins was the best and most coherent person on that program. She's right on the button with her truthful comments.

One sham marriage may be happening in the UK every single hour, shocking figures revealed last night. Official figures show that between January and October last year, a total of 7,606 fake weddings were reported to the Home Office. Yet despite the huge scale of the problem, just 90 people were deported over the same period for engaging in false marriages to gain entry to the UK. It means that for every 85 sham marriages, just one person is being thrown out of the country. Experts said the appalling record sent out the unmistakeable signal to criminals that there will be no comeback if people enter a false partnership. Labour said the figures showed the Coalition was ‘presiding over a broken immigration system’. The party’s immigration spokesman, David Hanson, said: ‘This record speaks for itself. More sham marriages and fewer deportations. ‘People want the rules to be enforced, and these figures show the Government simply isn’t doing that.

You've said it yourself and so has joseph that in REALITY immigrants HAVE TAKEN OUR JOBS just by the fact they are here eg.

It isn't that benefits are too high, the minimum wage has become a noose around the neck of the lowest paid as there isn't a great deal of difference between that and being on benefits.
I'm not claiming any benefit at the moment, but the perks that go with benefits of any kind such as free precriptions etc make being on the dole seem much easier.
If we trained our young people properly there would be no need for immigration of any kind. The country is full and all services are stretched to breaking point - it is foolhardy to continue to allow more foreigners into the country!

"It isn't that benefits are too high, the minimum wage has become a noose around the neck of the lowest paid as there isn't a great deal of difference between that and being on benefits."

" mental capacity to think for themselves"
But thats must be based on something more substantial than just saying its "Rubbish" "Nonsense" etc etc etc. You must have something to back that up.
Said this before. Instead of just shouting "rubbish" "racist" "nazis" etc etc at the BNP 10-15 years ago when they claimed white girls were deliberately being targeted by Asian gangs for grooming there would be a few thousand less young girls lives ruined than would have been if people had taken the time to examine the evidence that was CLEARLY there. The evidence that immigration is far to high and its negative effects are CLEARLY there people are just in denial about it because they are trying to be one of the "tolerant tribe". Politicians put a positive spin on immigration not to JUSTIFY it but to control racial division and the undoubted social unrest that would occur if the WHOLE TRUTH were known

Legoland Windsor has called off the day out for the Muslim Research and Development Foundation after taking advice from Thames Valley Police. Protestors, Windsor residents and a local Ukip councillor had asked Legoland to cancel the group’s private booking because it is run by by Haitham al-Haddad, who has been banned from speaking at a British universities due to his anti-Western views. Mr al-Haddad’s charity had promised a day of “halal entertainment” but his previous views are controversial. He is reported to be on a list of 25 “hate clerics” identified by security chiefs and Downing Street as candidates for anti-extremism Asbo banning orders. He has spoken in favour of a form of female genital mutilation, although he recognises it is illegal in Britain, and following the death of Osama bin Laden he wrote because he was a Muslim he would “enter paradise”. The ultra conservative cleric, who is of Palestinian origin, is a member of the Islamic Sharia Council.

In the 1970's the UK suffered a brain drain on a large scale because a large section of the population believed they could see no prospects of an economic recovery and a country in long term decline.. Now the strength of the UK economy, particularly in the South East, is attracting well educated and talented young people from the less economically buoyant parts of the EU where all they see is despair. In the long term, given the creation of the necessary infrastructure, these newcomers will bring more credits than debits.
The downside is the inability to deter the less desirable element of the immigrant surge. Had our leaders made the free movement of people across the EU conditional on a series of minimum qualifications, as per the Australian points system, we could have had the best of both worlds.

Well. I assume they are coming here to work. So it begs the questions... Why do we need these so called well educated and talented young people from Europe? Don't we have enough home grown well educated talented young people to take up those jobs? And if not... WHY NOT?

Ahcawntspeyk.
The short answer is no and not by a long way. There are currently almost 100,000 vacancies for engineering graduates.
For whatever reason our schools have not been turning out enough young people with the necessary numeracy and linguistic qualities.
It's not a new thing. Over 30 years ago I took part in a TV programme which highlighted the handicap faced by UK manufacturers in respect of the educational attainment of our children when compared with Germany.I don't think much has changed.

We have the seventh largest manufacturing sector in the world. But for the structural weakness in productivity,in part down to our education system, manufacturing would be stronger.
The latest figures from the office of National Statistics show UK output per worker is 16% below the G7 average and 22% below Germany.
Replied: 2nd Mar 2014 at 18:53
All i know is this... It seems like at least 80% of EVERYTHING i purchase ISN'T made here. So if we are as you say the seventh largest manufacturing sector in the world, WHAT are we manufacturing? And who is buying it?

If engineering in this country is dependent an engineering graduates well this country in sunk. Worked with dozens of graduates and every one of them is more than able to talk about or write about an engineering project but get them to actually think or do anything hands on and you may as well get a couple of dozen battery hens to sort it.

Today's Express: BRITAIN’S jails are clogged up with foreign criminals at a cost to taxpayers of hundreds of millions of pounds because of the Government’s “frustratingly poor” record on deporting them. In a scathing report published today MPs said overseas inmates consistently account for one in seven of all serving convicts because immigration officials fail to kick existing crooks out quicker than new ones are sent down. Shockingly the deportation rate plummeted by 18 per cent over three years, the Public Accounts Committee revealed.MPs on the committee also slammed failing rehabilitation programmes designed to stop ex-prisoners re-offending. In a report into the country’s 130 prisons, the committee found that about 11,000 of the total 84,000 prisoners were from overseas costing the UK £300million a year.

Paul, and you wonder why people think you're a bit brainless.
I've not long since got home and had my tea, been occupied with something in Liverpool. Not that I need to justify what I do to someone who doesn't live, work, or pay taxes in this country.
Stick to whinging from afar, like you usually do.

Yes, copied and pasted Harry!! Around 150,000 eastern European migrants are putting just £1 a week into Britain’s tax coffers. Others in low-paid jobs contribute virtually nothing after tax credits and benefits are taken into account. And as a result of our topsy-turvy benefits system some immigrant families are even costing the taxpayer nearly £300 a week. The shocking figures were set out in a report from think-tank Migration Watch into the hidden costs to public funds of the mass influx of newcomers from the EU. It dealt a blow to claims by supporters of open borders that mass immigration boosts the economy. Chairman Sir Andrew Green said: “The taxpayer is subsidising their wages. No wonder then that employers are in favour of them and that so many people find the UK such an attractive destination.”

I've dealt with many migrant cases.
Young couples with young families, usually in low paid jobs.So when child benefit, tax credits, housing benefit, council tax benefit have been taken into account plus obviously their kids educated in our schools plus the NHS is there if they are unfortunate enough to be sick...they are indeed contributing nada/siltch/zip and we are paying them to actually be here.
Replied: 30th Apr 2014 at 11:34

Replied: 30th Apr 2014 at 11:45
Well Walter they aren't economic EU migrants ..so the fact they are working contributes to society because we aren't paying them full benefits.
If we got other British born people into these jobs and they came off benefits,we'd financially benefit also.
So,again,what is your point?
Replied: 30th Apr 2014 at 11:45
sorry jay,not sure I understand your post
Some immigrants claim benefits and are a cost to society, I assume (given the clampdown on benefits) they are only claiming what they are entitled to
Other immigrants work and contribute
Same two things apply to UK residents
We belong to the EU which allows free movement of people and trade
What's the difference apart from accident of birth ?
Replied: 30th Apr 2014 at 13:24
The clampdown is a myth.
My point is clear,we have nowhere near full employment. We have millions of British born people claiming benefits. The economic migrants who are mainly low skilled have moved here and aren't contributing via tax to our economy.Free movement is suppressing wages and jobs are being taken that unemployed Brits can do.
Free movement that involves economies that are vastly different has been a disaster to the working class of this country.
Replied: 30th Apr 2014 at 13:31
Full employment is a myth, recently used by Iain Duncan Smith, if I remember rightly.
I also know at least two families in the Wigan area where the benefits received outweigh the tax contributions that they pay from their wages. To suggest that it is a migrant only issue is plain stupidity.
Replied: 30th Apr 2014 at 13:39
@Harry
Where have i suggested that?
There is a difference between a British citizen being encouraged to work through the tax system in a job and a citizen from another country coming here and paying nothing and taking a job that a British citizen can easily do.
We aren't talking about Brain surgeons here..we are talking about low skilled jobs that anyone can do.
I hate to say it but suggesting differently is plain stupidity on your part.
Replied: 30th Apr 2014 at 13:42
You said My point is clear,we have nowhere near full employment.
You also said If we got other British born people into these jobs and they came off benefits,we'd financially benefit also.
If you put natural UK workers into these jobs, they'd still be claiming the same benefits, as they'd still be on the same wage! So it doesn't reduce the bill at all.
Replied: 30th Apr 2014 at 13:44
If an average Brit came off benefits and took a low paid job,is benefits would be greatly reduced. His housing benefit, council tax benefit etc etc.
Do you know how benefits work????
Replied: 30th Apr 2014 at 13:48
The benefits available for the UK low paid worker are the same as what an EU migrant worker would get regarding housing benefit, council tax, etc.
Replied: 30th Apr 2014 at 13:49
Why would they take a low paid job when they would be better off on benefits
Replied: 30th Apr 2014 at 13:52
Are you really this dumb,Harry?
You asked why we'd save-i've explained.
Of course the benefits are the same but because he is a British nationality we'd save because he is here and probably staying already!!If we continue to let ECONOMIC migrants of different nationalities in,we save nothing-it costs us!!!
Free movement doesn't work when economies are on VASTLY different levels.
Replied: 30th Apr 2014 at 13:53
I think it's you who is the dumb one. You said
If an average Brit came off benefits and took a low paid job,is benefits would be greatly reduced. His housing benefit, council tax benefit etc etc.
If an EU migrant and a UK born person would get exactly the same benefits if they were in work, how would the benefits be reduced?
Replied: 30th Apr 2014 at 13:56
The only people who really benefit here are :
Employers who pay slave wages because they know that desperate people will take it to improve their bottom line
Politicians with their trust funds and their directorships and their second homes who want to divert our attention away from the real scandals by using innocent immigrants looking to make a better life for themselves by LEGALLY coming to the UK,LEGALLY working for crap wages or LEGLLY claiming benefits.
It used to be the Jewish people who were blamed for everything bad, now it's immigrants.wake up people, don't fall for it.We're better than that, this is the country that introduced the NHS, fought two just wars and welcomed people into our country from all around the world
Whatever is happening to us ?

Nobody blames the migrants themselves-it's the governments fault that allowed it to happen.
Your last post though tells us why UKIP are flying high in these polls-people want to debate these issues. It's easy to play the 'don't blame the migrants' card. But unfortunately we do live in a world of finite houses, school.hospitals, jobs etc etc.

point taken but I still say that we are a wealthy enough country to look after both our own people and any newcomers to our fine country
It's just that the money is concentrated in the hands of about 5% of the population, they don't want us looking at that so they create a 'bogey man' for us to blame and hate.
As long as we are in the EU these people are as entitled to come here as you and I are to leave Springfield and decamp in mainland Europe. And I don't see that situation changing in my lifetime
Replied: 30th Apr 2014 at 14:07
I think they'll stop the mass migrations of people and that will be the only change-if not any EU referendum vote would be very close.
I disagree on there being an infinite amount of room in our country.A lot of the migrants now take the jobs i used to do when i was studying at college and uni.The amount of people we have taken in is unprecedented. My cousin owns a building firm and he say under cutting in that area is rife now and has made is far harder to make a living. It easy to sit in an ivory tower if you aren't personally affected by such things but UKIP's rise in popularity is due to these concerns being stifled and not being taken seriously by the major parties.
My prediction is that UKIP will walk this election but the public school elite will still ignore the masses.
Replied: 30th Apr 2014 at 14:13

They may win the European/Council elections but there is zero chance of them winning anything approaching the number of seats to have any more influence than he Green Party in next year's General Election, thems just the facts mate. And in the absence of any UKIP presence the political elites will never leave the EU (turkeys don't vote for Xmas) so the status quo will remain. Lab or Tory -makes absolutely no difference
Replied: 30th Apr 2014 at 14:19
@walter
They don't need to win to gain influence. The parties will be looking to chase that 30 per cent of the vote that UKIP represents. The Tories will have too because they need to win by about 7 per cent to have a chance of an overall majority.

Replied: 30th Apr 2014 at 14:42
It would depend on their incomes what they pay and are entitled too.The fact is even though they've paid nothing in and just landed here that within a matter of months/it used to be a day/ that they'll be entitled to the same as people who have paid in all their life's.
Harry couldn't fathom that even though Polish/Lithuanians etc were entitled to the same thing that they weren't British and hence there was no economic saving to them working here unlike natural born Brits.

anyroad I had to go about 2 weeks ago, dropped the trousers and all that (which was odd because I had an ear infection), anyroad, gets the prescription and popped into Gidlow Lane chemist for the drops
Approx 10 people in front of me in chemist, all I'd say younger than me (Im a sprightly 55),all what you might call white working age, working class people. About 7 or 8 of the 10 present the chitty, receptionist asks if they pay for their prescription - not one of them did (until me and I'm retired but I had to cough up)
Whats that all about then ?, it certainly isnt the case that our little town is a hotbed of immigrants so that's not the reason none of these chaps (for chaps they all were) were on free prescriptions

What the silly little Jay doesn't fathom is that anyone coming in from the EU can claim any benefits that an English person can, to the same amount as the English person.
Why don't you explain the economic saving then, seeing as you're such an expert? You remind me of Darren, he knew everything too.
What Jay also fails to realise is that migrants can claim contribution based benefits providing they have paid in to the equivalent system in their homeland. That is the truth of it. Fair? Possibly not, but that's the way it goes.
Jay ought to remember he was a long time supporter of the Labour party, and can shouler his share of the responsibility.

Personally,i'd like us to draw a line-breath in and issue no more NI numbers and take a count of how many people are here.It will enable us to plan and target resources for health, education etc etc etc.
Everything is creaking from the transport infrastructure to the hospital and the schools.I'd like to end free movement of people and instead recruit people from the world not just the mainly white eastern EU for the skills we need.
Just a sensible policy and not a free for all.If UKIP is polling 38 per cent despite the constant attacks from all the media from the BBC to the tabloids, obviously it's message is resonating within the British public.Which is the most generous and tolerant in the western world.

My real concern to be honest is that, having had professional dealings with the DoH in the past, I can 100% guarantee that there is no check made on these scripts to see if the person is entitled to a freebie. The chemist does not ask even for a verbal reason why you don't pay, they just accept it. as billy says,if you know the rules it would be easy to cheat the system

Even by the standards of Islamist fanatics, the Nigerian sect known as Boko Haram comes across as malevolent and unhinged. It has abducted over 200 girls and plans to sell them as child brides in order to save them from the disgrace of a school education. Its specific brand of Islamism may not be exportable and, touch wood, it doesn't have the capacity to mount a large-scale terror attack on the West. But it's an example of a phenomenon that is not confined to Africa: the growing influence of extreme religious Islam

Writing in the broadcaster’s annual report, Channel 4’s head of factual Ralph Lee said: 'The level of Islamophobia we encountered with the 4Ramadan season was unexpected, but church bells have been stopped from ringing with just one complaint. Now here is my input, like most people I have nothing against muslims or any other nationalitis that come here to work as doctors, nurses, etc so long as they do work and pay their taxes , its the scroungers who claim everything while contributing nothing to this country that really pi$$es everyone here off. even on Question time last night no-one even attempted to say this, beggars belief that we have to keep stum while there are more and more immigrants coming in to take out hard earned cash, benefits, school places, dentist places, houses etc .....

Replied: 9th May 2014 at 23:44
billyh, i'm with grandad, there will always be a level of immigration that we need, such as doctors and other highly skilled people, but those on the left think we should let any tom dick or harry in - regardless of who they are or what they have done, and whether they are skilled or illiterate, and that's where the problem lies, with around 2 million unemployed do we really need to bring in unskilled labour and people with no hope of getting a job due to their poor education?
Replied: 9th May 2014 at 23:44
Go round Marsh Green and see the multiculti in 3d!!,
Replied: 9th May 2014 at 23:49
There's some cracking illiterate's on here, and they can't even use the excuse they're immigrants!
FWIW, I think if they have a criminal record that is beyond a certain seriousness (not sure what that level is yet, perhaps something that the sentence is mandatory prison, or something like that), they shouldn't be allowed in as a matter of public interest. Likewise, if they commit a crime beyond a certain level here, send them to wherever they came here from. Again, using public interest.

A pregnant woman in Sudan will lose her life after she was sentenced to death for converting to Christianity to marry her husband. Mariam Yahya Ibrahim, 27, was charged with adultery for marrying a Christian man and has been ordered by the courts to abandon her newly adopted Christian faith and return to Islam. During yesterday's sentencing hearing Judge Abbas al Khalifa asked the pregnant mother-of-one whether she would return to Islam - but she refused. She said 'I am a Christian,' and the death sentence was handed down!

No, thought not.
My 'personal' remarks are made in response to the absolute folly that some posters on here, who's only intention seems to be to stir up a bit of bother regarding foreigners and Islam.
You posting something which was, unsurprisingly, wrong. The only bit of your post I agree with is regarding the foreign aid we send - we should cut it off, because that's the only way they will learn.
As I also said, and I'd like you to take note of this part, as it's especially relevant to one or two in here. If we offered this women and her direct family asylum, we'd be moaned at for letting foreigners in.
What is even more surprising is the amount of people in here who criticise foreigners, who probably have a better grasp of the English language than they do.

Few people are better qualified to speak on immigration than Culture Secretary Sajid Javid, the son of a Pakistani bus driver. His background makes his views all the more important because free from any possible accusation of racism he can speak his mind. “Immigrants need to respect our way of life,” he says. That means making a real effort to integrate, mixing socially and culturally – and most of all learning to speak English. Mr Javid’s parents were very proud to be part of Britain so he is shocked when he meets immigrants who have been here 50 years and still haven’t learned English.

Lee Rigby's killers didn't get life sentences?
From the BBC:
Michael Adebolajo has been given a whole-life term and Michael Adebowale has been jailed for a minimum of 45 years for murdering Fusilier Lee Rigby.
Off you go again with your foolishness. One has a whole life term, and one has a MINIMUM of 45 years. That means he'll be 67 before they even consider releasing him, no guarantees that they will. Both will die in prison, whether because of their sentences, suicide, or because someone gets hold of them.
I won't even dignify your idiocy re Hamza with a response. I've posted my thoughts on it elsewhere, and those who have brains know my opinions on that.

his wife came here illegaly under a false passport and as for his sons they are already in jail Hamza's second wife Najat Mostafa, 55, (left) with whom he has seven children, lives in a £1.25 million five-bedroom council house in Shepherd's Bush, West London. His eldest son Mohamed Mostafa, 32, was jailed for his part in planning to blow up churches in Yemen on Christmas Day 1998 (inset, second from right). He was jailed again in 2008, along with his brother Hamza Kamel, (inset third from right) now 27, for their part in a £1 million luxury car scam. Hamza's fifth son Imran Mostafa, 20, (far right) was jailed for 11 years in 2012 for armed robbery.
Replied: 21st May 2014 at 13:57
How is Abu Hamza's second wife lives to in a £1.25million council house surely the bedroom tax should make it impossible and also the restriction of only being able to get £26,000 in benefits. Why isn't she under DWP scrutiny after all she is 58 and shouldn't have any children young enough to stay at home so she should be looking for a job. Personally I would deport the whole family back to their country of origin and bar any right to a legal challenge.
Replied: 21st May 2014 at 15:16
And that explains why your opinion counts for diddly squat.
No doubt you subscribe to the guilty until proven innocent function too?
If she got a job, you would only complain about her taking someone else's. His wife is 55, not 58, BTW.
Regarding his 'lieutenant', he is currently detained in Broadmoor. Not like he's roaming the streets, is it?
It's a shame that you're so blinkered and come out with such crap really, because you make a good point (which I had already made elsewhere) regarding the benefits cap, etc.
Replied: 21st May 2014 at 15:45
Nick Clegg has sparked outrage by defending the taxpayer-funded £1.25million house lived in by hate preacher Abu Hamza’s family. The Deputy Prime Minister rejected demands to cut benefits for the hook-handed cleric’s wife and children after he was convicted of 11 terror offences in the U.S. Four of Hamza’s sons and a stepson have served time in jail – two for terrorism offences. But on his call-in radio show yesterday, Liberal Democrats leader Mr Clegg defended the family’s right to be housed at an extortionate cost to the British taxpayer.

shyster As none of captain hooks family works, then surely they don't need to be housed in London, they are not commuting to work. Therefore, if we must house them, move them to somewhere much, much cheaper. Its downright disgusting that they have been able to live in the lap of luxury all this time. I thought there was a benefit cap? what happened to that?

I don't believe that for a minute. I believe there are scumbags who are Muslims, and scumbags who are foreign, but this doesn't make them unique. Far from it. You don't need to be foreign, or Muslim, to be a scumbag. They exist in every walk of life, in the guise of every religion.

A total of 34,904 Romanians and 10,445 Bulgarians registered for National Insurance numbers in January, February and March – the first three months after the lifting of employment restrictions on migrant workers from the two countries. The new statistics severely undermine claims made last week that the number of Romanians and Bulgarian workers in the country actually fell in the first months of this year.

BRITAIN is buckling under the pressure of a fresh wave of migration from Europe. The number of immigrants arriving here from the EU surged by 27 per cent last year, according to official ¬figures released yesterday after the polling stations had already opened. A total of 201,000 EU citizens arrived in the UK, compared with 158,000 the previous year. The Office for National Statistics said the “significant increase” had been fuelled by the number of people coming here to look for work. The figures were a major blow for David Cameron and led to renewed support to get Britain out of the European Union and regain control of our borders from Brussels. Unless Britain leaves the EU the Government will continue to have no say on the hundreds of thousands of migrants entering the UK I am very sad and sorry to say that it will take blood on the streets before the fools, dolts and idiots that govern us do something.

Now Hooky looks like spending the rest of his born days in the slammer, the next question is what will happen to Mohammed Mustafa Kamel? No, he’s not one of Ali Baba’s 40 Thieves. Kamel is the eldest son of Abu Hamza, the hook-handed Islamist fanatic who was convicted in the US last week of 11 terrorism charges and can look forward to sitting out his life in solitary confinement in one of America’s toughest jails. Kamel’s precise whereabouts at the moment are unknown. But it’s quite likely he – together with some or all of his seven siblings – can occasionally be found at the £1.25million five-bedroom council house that is the Hamza family home in Shepherd’s Bush, West London. Nick Clegg, our Deputy Prime Minister, is in no doubt about what should happen to Kamel, who is 32. Er, nothing. Mr Clegg said he “understood” the public’s “frustration” that Hamza’s Morocco-born wife Najat Mostafa and a number of their eight children remained in residence.
But he rejected calls to cut their housing and child benefits – believed to be around £33,800 a year!

A husband who strangled to death his pregnant wife two weeks after police arrested him for threatening to kill her with a hammer was sentenced to life imprisonment today.
Mohammed Badiuzzaman, 34, pleaded guilty to murdering mother-of-three Sabeen Thandi at the Old Bailey earlier this month. Before the killing he told colleagues he planned to kill his wife, bragged that UK jail was easy peasy. Badiuzzaman had forced Mrs Thandi into a Muslim marriage and had moved in with her two months after they began dating in November 2012. He was controlling, preventing her from leaving the house alone, forcing her to throw away ‘revealing’ clothes and instead be a good muslim and wear a hijab because otherwise she would ‘feel his wrath’ 17 years, should be hung!

Secondly, Billyh, if you took the time to READ, rather than copy and paste, I've already said on here (I think) what I think of the benefits cap etc. What I HAVEN'T yet seen, is YOU answer any of the questions posed to you.

billyh,
Somehow (unless you have changed beyond recognition)I don't think you think you are being bullied. I see where you are coming from in some instances with the Muslims but they are certainly not all the same. As with the English there are good and bad amongst them. I have worked with some, who don't foist their beliefs on you, who are lovely people and at the same time I have worked with English people that I wouldn't pi** on if they were on fire. I have been a Daily Mail reader for over 40 years but I do think they seek out stories to inflame the situation. At the same time I do think that whilst Muslims can obviously practice their own religion all this boll**** with Halal food in schools etc. is pandering too much to them. If they don't like the food take sandwiches. If they are in prison they eat the same as the rest. I do remember when we had to eat fish or Cheese Pie every Friday because the Catholics couldn't eat meat so that was foisted upon us. I am in the UK around the end of March next year so we will make a date for you to take me out and buy me a few pints. Be lucky.

Dawn had just broken over the squalid, stinking campsite that had been the young Afghan’s home by the dockside in Calais for the last three months. When 20-year-old Morad Mohammed looked out of his makeshift tent there was a French policeman in riot gear telling him to get up and go.
‘Where?’ he asked the officer as he watched the site being dismantled and destroyed all around him.‘Go to UK,’ the policeman told him. ‘It’s easy.’ But don't blame the French, they are protecting France. Blame the politicians for the welfare-magnet and their inaction.

Immigration officials at one airport stopped more than 300 such health tourists over two years. The British National Health Service "is the most generous in the world’.

Today's Independent: A sign declaring a London park an “Islamic area” and ordering dog walkers to stay away because “Muslims do not like dogs” is being investigated by police. The warning, branded “alarming and divisive” by the local council, appeared in Bartlett Park in east London’s Poplar. It read: "Do not walk your dog here! Muslims do not like dogs. This is an Islamic area now." Police have removed the offending message and conducted additional patrols in the area. "A Tower Hamlets council spokesman said the poster was alarming and divisive." - Tower Hamlets council spokesman - one of Lutfur's lot! They should know what "divisive" means

Do you deny the following Stardelta from the London Evening Standard? there is now evidence of self-styled 'vigilantes' patrolling streets of London, accosting women and vandalising public property. The group, which is attempting to cordon off 'Muslim areas', has dubbed itself 'Muslim Patrol'. So far, the group has posted two videos to its new YouTube account which was set up in December 2012. The first video shows the destruction of advertising and vandalising of bus shelters, both displaying images of H&M push-up bras. The second video sees the 'vigilantes' approaching and harrassing members of the public for either consuming alcohol, dressing 'inappropriately', or being inebriated near a mosque. Several of the videos uploaded to the account have already been removed as they violated YouTube's terms and conditions. One specifically states that YouTube deemed it intentionally "designed to bully, harrass and threaten". The footage is from East London, where 'Shariah zones' were set up last year. The new tactic of intimidation is said to appall local residents, who will likely find the 'patrols' disconcerting. In the videos, the 'Muslim Patrol' is heard to say, "Alcohol banned. This is a Muslim area. Muslims patrol the area."

Yes a very good article especially the second one: As I’ve stated though, there are rather more concerning patterns emerging:
1) The extremist views of young Muslims in particular (aged 16-24) These results are from a poll of Muslim students:
– 33% claim that killing is justified if done to protect religion.
– 40 percent support the introduction of sharia for British Muslims.
– 33 percent support a worldwide Islamic caliphate based on sharia.
These results are from Muslims polled (16 – 24) for Policy Exchange:
-37 percent of young British Muslims want Sharia law in Britain.
-36 percent of young British Muslims think apostates should be killed.
-13 percent of young British Muslims said they “admired” Al Qaeda.

Thousands of illegal migrants in Calais have written to the French authorities demanding to be allowed to travel to Britain “as soon as possible”.Until they are allowed into the UK, they say, they should be given houses in Calais and freedom from police checks. Their demands follow the bulldozing of three illegal camps in the Channel port town on Wednesday. A group representing more than 1,000 migrants still living rough in the area has handed an open letter to Denis Robin, the local prefect, containing a series of “demands” to help speed their passage to the UK. Besides being given “houses in Calais with respectable hygiene, freedom from police checks, and three meals a day”, the migrants also want “negotiations between France and the United Kingdom” to ensure their arrival in Britain as soon as possible.

Under international law, anyone has the right to apply for asylum in any country that has signed the 1951 Convention and to remain there until the authorities have assessed their claim.
Interesting that you make this claim......
By demanding to come here and refusing asylum from the first safe country they passed through they have broke both the spirit and the law of the asylum scheme"

But Paul, you said this......

The refugee council says this......
Under international law, anyone has the right to apply for asylum in any country that has signed the 1951 Convention and to remain there until the authorities have assessed their claim.
So again, and at the risk of wasting time and bandwidth I will ask you who is right and who is wrong?
Tell you what Paul, forget about giving me an answer. nah don't bother. Instead we will just use it as yet another example of the fact that you don't have a clue what it you are talking about and instead again demonstrate that you desperately want to force your ignorant views and opinions on others

Replied: 3rd Jun 2014 at 13:52
12-0 At least if not more, but is it not funny how they come right across all these European countries just to get to England. Do you agree that benefits should be for the people who have paid into the system. If they brought that in they would not try so badly to get here. And another thing, they are not Europeans, so do not have freedom of movement rights. In fact they should have no right whatsoever to come into our country. The ones that really annoy me are those that claim asylum here as they are terrified of their country hurting them, then when they are given asylum here, you watch them travel back and forth to that said country 12-1!

Perhaps the person concerned may have friends or family in a particular country.
Perhaps the person may be fluent in the language and better understands the culture of a particular country.
Perhaps the person concerned may feel more comfortable in a country known to be more tolerable of his or her beliefs.
Perhaps the person concerned may have skills or attributes that are in more demand and be of greater benefit in a particular country.
It really doesn't take much thinking about Paul.

Replied: 3rd Jun 2014 at 17:56
Paul?.....when you make a statement and expect people to take it as a fact you generally quote the source.
For example......
Asylum applications (excluding dependents) rose from 4,256 in 1987 to a peak of 84,130 in 2002, and
then declined to 19,865 in 2011.
Asylum applicants and their dependents comprised an estimated 7% of net migration in 2011, down from
49% in 2002, but up from 4% in 2010.
In 2011, 33% of asylum applications were accepted initially.
The majority of asylum seekers are men, while their dependents are mostly children, with some adult
women.
In 2011 the UK received 0.41 asylum applicants per 1000 people in its population, below the European
average (0.65 for EU plus Norway and Switzerland).

Two men accused of a terror plot will appear at London's Old Bailey and, for 'reasons of national security', their trial will not be heard in public. Their identities, their alleged crimes and the evidence against them will not be made public. The very existence of the secret trial can be disclosed today only because the Daily Mail fought with other media groups to have reporting restrictions lifted. The casting aside of the centuries-old doctrine of open justice sparked anger last night - with critics slamming the government's 'dangerous obsession' with secret courts.

Replied: 5th Jun 2014 at 08:34
Harry, have to laugh at your naivety (or head-in-the-sand stance) don't you know this happens nearly every day. For example there is a trial currently taking place in Stafford where a number of "foreign" men have been accused of grooming a 15 year old girl. There has been very little coverage of this case in the national media but surely reporting on a case where six Muslim men are accused of sexually exploiting a 15 year old girl is something that would not only be interesting to the public but would also be in the public interest? There doesn’t appear to be any legal reason why this case cannot be reported more widely? There are no reporting restrictions other than those usual ones that forbid the publication of details that may identify the victim. The case is being covered by local newspaper media but there appears to have been barely a word about this in national media. I wonder why?
Replied: 5th Jun 2014 at 13:08
Are you a bit dim?
One is covering a case of terrorism, and the other is regarding child abuse. Are you too daft to see why they don't publicise details on terrorism cases?
And, if it's so well covered up, how do YOU know about it? Is because it's the first thing you search for on the internet?
Replied: 5th Jun 2014 at 13:13
Do you have special access paul?
Didn't think so. All this secret stuff you're on about is open for anybody to find out about.
Replied: 5th Jun 2014 at 13:36
Harry maybe I am bit dim, but what part of the "there are no reporting restrictions" didnt you understand? Rolf Harris, Stuart Hall and Co. are all on the tele nearly every day for alleged sex crimes so why the silence in this trial?
Jamse, no I don't have any special access and where did I mention the word "secrecy"?
Replied: 5th Jun 2014 at 13:44
Are you real? Seriously?
Do you not think, for just one moment, that Hall, Harris and co are famous across the country, not just in Stafford?
Why do you only post up when it involves migrants and Muslims?
I don't recall you posting anything about the poor lady stabbed in Leeds, despite that getting countrywide coverage.
Replied: 5th Jun 2014 at 13:52
I'm no legal expert, but this woman is: It is unprecedented that the trial of two defendants charged with serious terrorism offences should take place entirely in private with the identities of both defendants withheld. ‘No order has ever been made which requires an entire criminal trial to be held in private, with the media excluded and defendants anonymous.’ She added: ‘This case is a worrying high water mark for secrecy in our courts. ‘There must be clearer explanations before the door is shut on press and public.’ All criminal cases are heard in open courts which the public and media can be present but no previous trial in the UK has been held entirely in secret. The Official Secrets Act enables cases to be heard behind closed doors but the legislation is rarely used in this way.

How can you laugh off this story or make a snide remark, British justice goes back to the Magna Carta and now its being rewritten to protect certain people. There should be no secret courts. Now it is terrorism then that will be the precident for “serious crime” in general. Even worse, there was a gagging order against reporting that there was a secret trial. ye gods!

Five Muslim-dominated Birmingham schools were placed in special measures today to 'protect children from extremism' following a bombshell report into a Trojan Horse plot to radicalise pupils. Hardline Muslim governors led an 'organised campaign' to change the character of ordinary state schools, the Education Secretary Michael Gove told MPs in a fiery Commons statement this afternoon. He revealed how one school had played the Muslim call to prayer over loudspeakers in the playground while another had invited a hate preacher to speak even though he had previously called for 'victory to the Muslims in Afghanistan'. Everybody keeps using the word extremism, but not to them it isn't. The fact is, our society and traditions are meaningless to these people, and this is actually how they want to live.

Amid all the furore about Islamist infiltration of schools in Birmingham, another story involving the watchdog Ofsted has received rather less attention. Inspectors have criticised a rural school in Devon for being insufficiently ‘diverse’. Although they concede that Payhembury Primary is a ‘happy place’, it has been denied an ‘outstanding’ rating because all 68 pupils are of ‘white British heritage’.

No ?
Thought not
Replied: 10th Jun 2014 at 15:11
.. and it is because of those dead women and children that Muslim youth is ripe for radicalization. It may be a situation we created, but still we must do something about it. They must be allowed to worship their faith, they have that right... ANY religion has that right, but they must not be allowed to use it as a cover for criminal acts.
Right or wrong, we cannot allow our schools to be used to breed religious extremist that will in time commit acts of violence towards the UK, of ANY religion. We simply cannot sit back and allow it, no matter what justification they claim to possess.

Totally agree Cad
I actually disagree with the whole 'Faith' or 'Free' schools concept, the former being a certain cause of future division of people based on which imaginary friend in the sky they happen to believe in and the latter simply a method for this government to lessen the impact of both local government and local people, I guess that's a debate for another day though

Political correctness swamps British society to devalue Britishness. All the authorities during the last two to three decades were scared to speak out for fear of being branded racist ,islamaphobic and reprisals. The use of lntimidation and threats were now being used by the hardliners to take advantage of the tolerance they view as a weakness to turn our infrastructure into their way's.We have been betrayed by the very people in power that should have protected us from this sort of thing!

If you really don't see any connection between angry young men whose wives, mothers, sisters were killed by 'The West' in what everyone now agrees was a bogus war and radical Islam you really should stop and think
I don't condone any criminal act or attempt to radicalise young muslims, let the law deal with that on a case by case basis
BUT
To pretend that it never happened is (I'm sorry to use such words) utter stupidity
If Middle East forces had attacked the UK on what turned out to be bogus information and (literally) hundreds of thousands of British residents had been killed how would we react ?
If you want a debate, I'm all for it but to simply keep posting AntiMuslim /Islam articles and to deny that there is a serious reason behind some of this stuff is just irresponsible

Despite Cameron previously saying he didn't want poorer nations to join the EU, Government sources have confirmed Britain would back Albania's campaign to gain "candidate" status in a vote next week. It comes after fresh unrest over Mr Cameron's pledge to get a grip on Europe. Mr Cameron has previously said he wants EU rules in place to block movement from new EU countries until their average income is in line with western European nations. During the last census, Albania had a population of 2,931,977, currently 17 per cent of whom are unemployed. The average monthly wage is £305. So You had best tell the DWP this as they give all these benefits out like candy, including benefits to kids back in their countries that we can not prove even exist. The whole thing is a debacle.

Most people in Britain think immigrants should speak English and have their access to benefits restricted, but there is a ‘disconnect’ between politicians’ attitudes and public opinion on the issue, a survey has found. The annual British social attitudes poll revealed that 95 per cent of the population think the English language is the cornerstone of Britishness. Around three out of four said you must be born in Britain or have lived here for most of your life to be classified as British, and six out of ten think EU migrants should wait three years before claiming benefits.
Replied: 17th Jun 2014 at 01:16
Almost two thirds of Britons believe immigrants should be forced to wait three years before they can claim benefits, a major study has found. The survey also reported that one in four think immigrants only head to Britain to abuse its generous welfare system. And more than three-quarters of the general public want ministers to slash immigration levels. The “commonsense” views will heap pressure on a Government struggling to control migration to the UK.
Authors of the annual NatCen Social Research British Social Attitudes survey said politicians would ignore its findings “at their peril”.

The former chairman of the British Joint Intelligence Committee said more young men leave the UK to become jihadis than anywhere else in Europe.

more fun A mother who stabbed her baby daughter with a kitchen knife has won the right to stay in Britain – so she can stay in touch with the girl she tried to kill.
