Wigan Genealogy

Looking for info on David Campbell and Ellen Birchall. They married in Ashton in Makerfield in 1853. David came from Scotland and worked on the big estate [Garswood Hall?] I think, and Ellen was a local girl. Her father, on their marriage certificate, was William, a hinge-maker. I am searching the 1841 census, and as yet have found 2 William Birchalls, but no Ellen. Ellen was born c1827, so would have been about 14/15 then. David was living in Widnes in 1881 with 4 children - Ellen had died. Any info would be most appreciated.
