Wigan Genealogy

Mark Magrath listed in 1841 Census as 'Pensioner'. Born somewhere in Ireland, he must have been in the military to have received a pension in those days. He died in 1850 and is buried in Westwood Cemetary. He was my gr. gr. gr. grandfather. I need to know where in Ireland he originated in order to continue with my family tree.
