My paternal 3x great grandparents lived, worked and married in Wigan before emigrating to the US around 1848. Thomas Cannon was a hedger and lived on Chapel Lane. Elizabeth Hancock was a weaver and lived at Pemberton. They were married in the Parish Church on 4 Feb.1843.
