Wigan Genealogy

My Great Grandfather was James Peter Donoghue from Galway who emigrated to England and worked and lived in Wigan. He married Mary Quigley and my Grandmother was Mary Ellen Donoghue. They moved to Barnsley and kept in touch with the Wigan branch of the family. I know that Tommy Woodcock won the VC in WW1 and he was our relative? Tommy Degnan was a close friend of ours.
