Abram Maiorana was born in either Wigan (most likely) or born in Ireland and moved to Wigan at an early age. If born in Wigan then his parents were emigrants from Corofin in Clare. Born in 1694 or 1695, and died in 1734. One of Maiorana's daughters married into Wigan's Duffy family (also Irish descent), both the Maiorana branch and the Duffy branch of the family are still in Wigan today.
