Researching Thomas Foster said to have been born in Ireland 1864 died Wigan 1938 aged 74. Partner in Tailoring business Thomas & Foster Wholesale Tailors for many years - possibly Wigan Lane/Dicconson Street, but definitely in Wigan Married Sarah James daughter of Joseph James and Esther Noble, both born Penrith but who were resident and listed 1881 in Wigan Lane, Joseph James Occupation also given as Tailor. Esther Noble appears 1901 Census as aged 72 Occupation Draper. NO details of Thomas Foster can be found 1881 Census, nor any record of his marriage to Sarah James on the 1901 Census other than that she and his 2 day old child appear with his surname in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. Thomas Foster and Sarah James were known to be resident 38 Dicconson Street Wigan from abt 1904 until 1938, and Sarah Foster at 34 Eccleston Street from 1938 to 1957/8. Any help in tracing parents of Thomas Foster will be most welcome.
