I'm searching for information re the Barton family from Ince/Hindley, a coal mining family who moved to Canada around the turn of the century and then returned to Wigan. My great grand father Albert Barton was a member of this family (born 1890), I believe the family lived in Well Street. I saw that Edmund Barton posted a message looking for info re Arthur Barton (born 1892); Arthur is my great grandfather's brother, I tried to email Edmund but his email address doesn't work, so I am also very keen to contact Edmund!
I'd also be greatful to hear any information re Albert's grandmother Mary Barton, nee White, (born 1826) and her family who lived in Broom Street, Wigan for most of the 1800s, they were a cotton weaving family from Ireland; particularly greatful for information about Mary's husband who was a Barton who worked as a Blacksmith as I can't make out his name on the census! Many thanks, Becky
