Wigan Genealogy

Looking for information on Elizabeth Ascroft, born 1830 ish. She variously describes herself on census returns as married and then as a widow, but I have not been able to trace a husband. She had a daughter, Athen Lavinia, born 1866 and a son, Alonzo James born 1873. There is also another daughter, Elizabeth A born around 1860. Before that I have not been able to trace her. Athen Lavinia married Lambert Orrell a miner, in 1885. These Ascrofts may have been canal boat people and there may be a wheelwright connection. Also looking for parents of Edward Orrell, born 1821, who married Mary Ann Hormby .
