Wigan Genealogy

Trying to sort out family from Standish/Wigan area. My great great grandfather Thomas Bentham was born in 1827 in Standish; father John mother Betty or Elizabeth. This is what is causing the problem. Some children listed as being for Elizabeth and some for Betty Very difficult to tease out. Think that Thomas had elder brother Henry and other brother Enock and John. Also looking for Alexander Bentham. His marriage to Ellen Hickam is listed in the parish of Wigan for February 1820 but no details of their births anywhere. Anybody out there with any information please? Lynne
