Another very rural scene Mick....you must be going into your 'pastoral' phase. I remember a good while ago that your photos had a very distinct down trodden approach...this is much nicer.

tut tut … I distinctly remember you being advised to stick to Norfolk .

Helen always adds interesting and fair comments is as welcome as the Flowers in May on p-a-d and in Wigan itself should she ever visit here. I'm sure she will have realised that what was said was just an angry reaction to a misunderstood comment.

Ozy the Traveller's rest is now called the Wayfarer.

A nice area....we pass The Wayfarer when we occasionally go to The Red Lion at Newburgh for our dinner, and sometimes come home via Dalton, Billinge and Upholland. Such a pleasant drive. There are some lovely places around Wigan.

You see deer all over the place now, even Lower Ince.

Ozy I know exactly where you mean on the left heading for Southport just past that pub/restaurant after leaving Parbold and just before the mini roundabout.

I saw last week on the path that runs from Kirklees canal bridge and the top of Bell Green Lane, it looked at me and I looked at it, then it just vanished into the bushes.

If it were in Newburgh, that field wouldn't be flat, it would be running uphill.
Also, I don't think the house between the Dougie and the mini roundabout has deer any more.

I fail to see who you’re defending here Irene .
Maybe you need to chill out a little .
I wasn’t having a go at Helen , and Helen appears to have taken my comment in the spirit that was intended .
So I don’t see the necessity of springing to the defence of anyone that you may perceive as being targeted .

I remain confident that not only Helen , but anyone else who comments on here , is more than capable of responding personally to a perceived slight without support from a third party .

In conclusion allow me to clarify … I was simply joking with the lady .

Ozy, we are at cross purposes here. I never suggested or even thought for one moment that you were having a go at Helen.....we seem to have a misunderstanding here. You were sticking up for her. I apologise if I worded my comment in a way that caused confusion. As for you, Mick, that misunderstanding was between Ozy and myself and I was speaking to the mechanic.

Fair enough then Irene but an apology from the original poster may well have been in order to my way of thinking .

That I DO agree on, Ozy, and I was very surprised when none was forthcoming. But thanks for accepting my apology. xxx
