Is there any scrap in theere Mick?
That place as gone downhill.
This mick fella is a real bore. The dreary photos he post do nothing for most people.
The building looks in a bad state.....perhaps its unsafe & is to be demolished. We walked along there once, not far from where my grandparents lived in Gathurst.
been like this for the past six months with car park sealed off people park there car there and go for a long walk along the cut dont no what its going to be but last time i walked past it would be better off pulled down and start a fresh
Another beautiful photo right on our doorstep in Shevington. It's a real tonic to see, but it must be said, it's seen better days.
The place has gone down hill since the Navigation changed its name to Elephant with new owners. The place let's Shevy down and we deserve better.
Like Aspull, we are a sort after area let's keep it that way.
Good photo Mick.
It is now in the hands of a well known TV gourmet chef, and she is to develop the land to become another of her popular restaurants Angelina's @ Gathurst. It will cater for those connoisseurs who have a quest in finding a restaurant serving the finest mélange of French & Italian foods and of course the finest wines, and we at Edina Bétula Wines wish her all the very best.
Oh, I don't know, the roof garden is looking good with the various trees, shrubs and grasses thriving in the nooks and crannies of the walls and gutters, if they grow any larger they'll be bringing the walls down and so save on demolition fees. I'd imagine there would be plenty of fruiting fungi from the wet rot too.
Hello from Oz, this photo brought back some wonderful memories this morning to my late father James Murray an ex-Kitt Greener who moved to live in the town of Mullumbimby Australia in the late 70s
I say late because he was lying on his death beds when I showed him the photo of this pub, a pub where he was employed as a barman.
He wasn't well man and he was taken to the hospital but he didn't survive.
If anybody remembers him his nickname was MINTY.
RIP James (Minty) Murray
Hello from Wiggin Janet and condolences regarding your father’s passing .
Perhaps you may be able to inform me , … and I’m well aware that Australia covers a vast area , but would Mullumbimby be remotely close to Tittybong by any obscure chance ?
…. It’s just that I once considered purchasing a small property in Tittybong , merely for the notoriety that comes with being able to name Tittybong as being one’s domicile .
If I’m being perfectly honest , then I feel inclined to agree with Fran here , as I too think that , like Aspull , Shevvy is also a sort of area .
Some sad sack patrolling troll Ozy. Don’t feed the Trolls …
Mind you they’ll have a job on trying to outwit you….;o))
So was the ‘ late+father’ stretched across two beds before rushing off to expire? But still managed to see today’s offering of the pub.
Reminds me of King Lear’s daughter Goneril….
“How sharper than a serpent’s tooth to have a thankless child”. She doesn’t seem bothered at all about poor ‘ Minty’.
