I've been sitting here this morning eating my bran flakes and, at the same time, trying to guess what today's photo of Wigan would be.
I didn't think it would be another one of Micks showing the river, Douglas at Brock Mill.

I was sitting at the table this morning eating my sausage, eggs and bacon with three toast and large cup of tea, and thinking, I hope its another of Micks great photos to brighten up my Monday before I take my dog for a walk, and I'm absolutely right. Another cracking photo Mick.

I can almost hear the flow of the water and the birds singing.
A very relaxing photo.

Looking at this photo, it appears that the river is flowing up towards the camera. But from my walks, I know that it flows the other way.
Must be an optical illusion.

If I remember rightly there is a date stone on the road side of the bridge stating 1846.
It looks a haven for birds, insects and other wildlife.
The beauty of these Winter photos is that you see much more detail without leaves on trees and bushes.
Nice one Mick.

It looks much nicer with leaves on the trees and bushes. Plants look better with flowers.
Another belter Mick.

Great photo Mick, maybe we'll get this bridge from the other side tomorrow to see which way the river is flowing then.

Wow, what a photo, you really capture the essence of the Dougie. Wonderfull composition and colours. Thank you so much Mick.

Bruce, you'll not find much there but, if you try half a mile downstream, you'll take specimen non-migratory shopping trollies and the occasional bike wheel or frame, depending on the season.

I 'd like to compliment the photographer on today's PaD but since he's done it himself about 15 times it would seem superfluous .

It seems he loves talking to himself.. DD.
