Wigan North Western Railway Station
That's the bus stop and rail bridge on Wallgate. Wigan North Western Railway Station is off the photo to the left.
The famous Wallgate tree can be seen in this Wiganworld picture; long may it last.
North West Station, if plans are accepted NWS with soon become part of the Bee transport network for Greater Manchester.
Let us hope that the trains will be as reliable as the Bee buses are.
Joy, what’s famous about that tree. Is it a tourist attraction? It’s not that old and not the only one in Wigan.
Has it been to Wem-ber-lee?
Agree Joy, the famous, true Wigan Tree,
and not to be confused with the Wigan Money Tree.

labour took that theer money tree, aye and owt else that was worth summat
It's the only tree that's ever been in Wallgate.
Tom, there's plenty trees on Wallgate.
With this climate change, we should start to remove trees from the sides of the road, before other motorists and pedestrians are killed with falling trees.
Where the tree is next to the railway bridge, overhead live wires carrying 25000 volts are close to the branches.
Could be dangerous surely.
