What is it?

What is it?
“What is this dad?”
“It’s called a boat son, it’s what humans use to get about on the water”
“ Do they have to paddle like us dad?”
“No son, it has what they call an engine, they pay a lot for fuel and that makes it go”
“Humans are very lazy aren’t they dad?”
“Just be glad you’re one of us son”

Where is this?

Very whimsical Dennis !
One of my favourite subjects too...how I wish we had tried narrow boating years ago !

The person at the bow of the boat must feel the cold with wearing a jacket and their head covered . The other two are wearing short sleeved t-shirts and the bloke on the tiller has a cap on.I like how the reflection of the boat is mirrored on the still water

Johnny Morris couldn't have said it better.

Well done Dennis.

Humans are not lazy they have to go out to work, to earn money so they can buy food to live on, some of them who have good jobs save some of the money they earn to buy things that make there live easier and more pleasurable like cars and boats.
You should take a look at your self ducky, what have done this week except eat and crap.
Looks like Red Rock to me Owd Reekie. I'm living in the attic of the old Crawford Arms.

It looks like the Navigation Bridge, bottom of Shevington/Gathurst

Looks like Red Rock

Nice picture Dennis with a variety of things of interest.
There are a lot of those geese on the canal at Red Rock so that could be the location looking towards the bridge from the car park side.

Rope scoured bridges mirrored in water ,
Identical wounds on every span ,
All look the same but for their Numbers ,
A family of crookbacks along the canal

All born before the railway came ,
When shovel and pick in the air did ring ,
Vaulting over the dusty workings
Before time had greyed the fresh cut stones .

Now red and white roses slip under their arches ,
Painted on the spluttering barges ,
Gone are the horses and the haulers ;
But yawn they yet across still waters .

It’s Red Rock Bridge, should have mentioned it shouldn’t I.

They are immigrants, but they might be going back home soon.

Poet...those words are just right. Thank you.

Not really Dennis, sometimes it gets the old codgers brain cells guessing. Even if they are wrong, It might ward off early onset dementia. Every little helps!

We can always rely on Poet to come up with some good lines. Lovely.

So cute waiting for the boat to pass so they can get back in the water.
