Still there

Mother nature works wonders
It reminds me of that scene in "The Railway Children" where the trees slide down the embankment.
Thats a really good image Dennis...the tree must be clinging to the rocks in very little soil. Nature is amazing.
Lovely photo Dennis ..it looks like the roots are embedded in with the rocks as well as the good rich earth. That could save the tree. I hope it doesn’t get uplifted. You are very lucky if you live on the doorstep of this area.
LOOKS LIKE WIGAN COUNCIL WILL HAVE SOMTHING TO SAY ABOUT THIS NOW THEY SEEN THE PHOTO DENNIS
The roots are firmly in the ground, this will hold the tree permanently.
Half of it's roots go under the tarmac road which will help to keep it up.
Nice old tree. Is that a chicken at the base?
Dennis great photo we see an almost identical tree walking along a so called private road that everyone uses alongside of Rivington upper reservoir from Horrobin lane to Knowsley lane albet you have been along that route, must have big strong roots in the ground at the rear as they go searching for water.
Concerns about Colin……Rev David the scaffolding is up inside the Central/Platform as if they have a leak in the archway but was still open using the other door on Wednesday.
Looking up the family tree. Thanks to Wigan millworkers who did the planting during the cotton famine in the 1860s. Another good photo Dennis.
You must be joking, "good old days". Wigan Council can't come out to potholes so they'll not come out to a tree.
well side ivy must agree
