Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head
A familiar scene with a mix of the old and new.
The Cherry Blossom softens the view. Further back is where the coaches pick holiday makers up to go to ‘exotic ‘ places. If you have to be picked up very early it’s a bit creepy…
Hard to capture everything in focus on a wet and dreary day. The blossom will get battered by the wind and rain and end up has a slippy mess on the pavement. It is nice to see it in its full glory but very short lived
Very good Dennis. Cherry blossom in bloom near the former Dr Boyds Drumcroon.
An apt title Dennis !
Norfolk is supposed to be a very dry county for several reasons but we have had a lot of rain .....& we get the winds from the North & East. So you are not alone !
That is a lovely dark blossom....and why 'Parsons Walk ' is it near a church ?
Nice photo of Wigan even on a rainy day.
There's my granddaughter's "blosmuss" again! I used to get her to stand under a tree and look up at the blue sky through the blossom and tell her that she would never see a more beautiful sight, and it was FREE! She went to nursery in Parson's Walk and I seem to spend half my life traipsing along there these days for blood tests at The Linacre Centre. A lady once stopped me and asked if I knew where the "Gary Lineker Centre" was! Helen, the rector of Wigan Parish Church used to live round the corner so maybe that has something to do with the name Parson's Walk, but I'm only guessing.
Helen of Troy, re. your comment "why 'Parsons Walk ' is it near a church ?"
I see you're from Troy, clearly not a local person, so what connection do you have with Wigan?
Dek, what connection do you have with the real world?
I don’t think you can catch a bus to Troy.
“ The city of Troy existed over 4000 years ago and was known as the
ancient centre of civilisation. It is now named Hissarlik in Turkey, It is also called Illium in Latin”.
Walked up and down there twice a day on my way to Thommy Linacre.
Helen lived in Wigan at one time as did many of our regular commenters who now live elsewhere and she has every right to comment on p-a-d and Album. She is always polite, pleasant and fair in her comments.
Who mentioned anyone’s rights to post on here? Who questioned Helen’s character?
I was just curious as to how anyone with Wigan connections can possibly be oblivious to the existence of it’s church and history.
Helen IS aware of Wigan Parish Church and has commented many times on photos of it. She seemed to think there might be ANOTHER church near Parson's Walk, giving rise to the name "Parson's Walk" , that's all. I didn't think you were serious about saying she was "from Troy" as Helen of Troy was a famous historical figure from an ancient civilisation and I thought you'd said it as a joke. If I was in the wrong about that, then I am happy to apologise.
Dont upset the clique Dek!
You are completely right Dek
Dek’s comment comes across as if he really believes Helen does come from Troy…!!!
It’s a pseudonym…she originates from Upholland. A strange question from Dek.
Mike W there’s no such thing as a ‘clique’ on here just regulars..if you took the time to comment then you would be a regular…nothing wrong with that ..is there?
