Very apt at this time of year with the snow on the ground

That must have been quite an eerie experience John . No sound but the sprinkling water in the winter darkness . I can just make out the steps to the pavilion . Good picture that you've taken some trouble to capture .

It's wet and windy in my neighborhood

Has it been Snowing?

‘It’s beginning to look like Christmas’. BUT
Having watched the film Harry Brown last night don’t think I could walk through the park in the dark.

Lovely photo, and odd seeing Wigan Park in darkness. On the rare occasions when we have passed it in the dark , driving along Parson's Walk, I have looked out of the car window and thought "I wouldn't like to be in there now!". It would have been okay a few weeks ago when they had the "Light Show" and there were loads of people in, but I would find it very eerie on my own.

You’re very brave John walking through the park in darkness.. but it was worth it wasnt it.. your photo is lovely.xx

I'm surprised they don't switch it off at night . Good photo .

An very unusual & brilliant photo, taken in the dark. Must have been before the park closed for the day...that is if the gates do close.

At one time, if a PAD showed a bare tree in the summer months, there would have been complaints from some of the viewers saying that it was out of season.

Another good photo John,
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone.

Good winter photo John.
It's never been safe in the park at night, twenty odd years ago there was a petition for the council to install lighting on the paths to and from Parsons Walk campus and Pagefield campus for students attending lectures at different times and campuses, but it never happened even when a girl student was attacked, as accordingly they hadn't the funds, though less places for the perverts to hide when the rhododendron shrubbery was removed.

Yes a lovely picture John, it reminds me of a Chocolate Fountain with cream around the edge. MMMMMMMMMMMM very tasty!
With your permission may I dip in?
And thank you all for your comments last night of yesterdays PAD plagiarised picture of St Wilfrid's, some people have no ethical standards.
Sad to think that it might be one of our happy crowd but regardless, all of you have a great Christmas and New Year.

THERES BEEN NO SNOW IN WIGAN, SO MAYBE THIS SNOW IS THE FAKE STUFF LEFT OVER FROM THE Wigan winter wonderland light show.

Comment by: DTease on 23rd December 2023 at 20:07

There was snow in Aspull on the 3rd of December this year.

Comment by: Dave on 23rd December 2023 at 21:14

Dtease , that’s why Mick was so good - he knew snow also landed elsewhere!

Comment by: DTease on 24th December 2023 at 16:05

That’s as maybe Dave, but he never got his head around the difference between There, Their and they’re did he.
I reckon it was due to severe constriction of the blood flow to his brain on account of wearing an undersized cycle helmet on an oversized head.
Poor Ozy did his best, but all to no avail. All his good advice went in one ear hole, three times round his Bikers Bonnet and out the other ear hole.

Comment by: Veronica on 24th December 2023 at 20:01

Yeah but…it’s not stoppin* him keeping changing his name Dtease. Poor Ozy is hoarse with keep telling him! He changes his name more times than his socks. He keeps the Mick part but then he adds pedals, pumps, bike chains, bike clips, handlebars etc, etc…anything but Shevvy .
