What a waste of tax payers money. Should have been spent on improving local cycle paths.

Money should have been spent on more important things in wigan instead of unimportant like this other things are declining in wigan they need to get a grip and look around!

Went into town last evening no tree in the Market Place even the lights were switched off so caught the bus to Chorley. Magnificent Tree, Street Lights and Fair Ground on the square!

Well worthy of renovation, a Wigan icon. I think everyone in Wigan has visited the Hall sometime or other.

It’s a ‘Haigh’ icon

Wigan Mick once rode is push iron through the front doors of Haigh Hall, and filmed himself dooing it.

I thought that the Hotel people had renovated Haigh Hall a few years back, so why did it need renovating again ?

Sir Bob, we stayed at Haigh Hall when it was run by Contessa Hotels, four nights of Faulty Towers.
We had a tour of the so called multi million pound renovation, less than a quarter completed by cowboys the rest like abandoned building site. I could right book on our experience.
No wonder they were turfed out.

Look at the history of Haigh Hall. It's a Grade 2 listed building with a past which is relevant to the industrial heritage of Wigan.
The money which is being spent on its restoration may possibly be ring fenced and it may be a case of 'use it or lose it'.

That's right Sir Bob, I remember him doing that, Ive just been trying to find the video that he made but can't see it now, but I have found one of the new hotel and some of what looks like the derelict parts of the hall showing a old bog and wash basin.
