Baby Elephant
Nature soon to reclaim.
Photo: Brian (Sony DSC-H200)
It looks more like a White Elephant than a Baby Elephant…what a waste of a good building.
Sad end, where are we going the public houses these days, we'll end up with no pubs at all just like the cinemas. Few and far between.
This is an everyday accuracy.
I'm not surprised not much money about these days.
I sure I read somewhere recently that it may be used by the community in future.
As long as I've got my sherry sat in front of the fire.
It would make an ideal place to house some of those poor Albanian refugees.
Mortarmillbill, I saw that too, on facebook. There are apparently ideas for it becoming a "hub" at some point in the future, where it will be used for various activities by the local community, but there are no immediate plans.
I can think of more deserving people than Albanian ‘refugees’. No such thing as ‘refugees’ from Albania…..
I imagine someone is using Sue’s name..
At 13:01 is not from me, Veronica.
I haven't posted on the photo today, although sad to see many pubs closing down.
I agrée Sue, and if a shuttle bus service could also be provided it would be handy for the amenities in Shevvy or Upholland.
Well said, Veronica.
more like hellbanians, they're gangsters and you name it they've done it or are in it and always dealing in misery, and they are now worldwide, all except in Liverpool apparently, not at all surprising is it, and they've been warned by local gang leaders to keep out, and what's happened lately they aren't bothered who gets in the way of their shootings.
Fear not Cyril, these gangsters have never heard of Mick and the Parish Bike Patrol. These fearless heroes will see Johnny Foreigner off in fine style.
One flash of Micks razor sharp wit will see these gangsters reduced to a pile of jibbering jelly.
The good ladies of Shangri La can sleep soundly in their beds knowing that Mick and the gallant men of The Parish Bike Patrol will be out there in the dark looking out for them....now where did I put them batteries fer mi bike?
Aye DTease, well they have been trained to be stealthy by a Ninja, possibly a grill, anyhow they can now creep up quietly on their feet, though still wheezing, they also got trained to do gangsta rap, is there a C in there somewhere? anyhow there's credit to them as they did capture all of those Peacocks, there's not one to be seen anywhere around, even Lord Whelan was left speechless, can you believe it, when his flock of Peacocks disappeared overnight, he still doesn't know the Parish Peacock Pouncers had pounced.
Maybe the Parish have issued them with a candle in a milk bottle for night patrols.
Sandra, there are buses with circular routes that go through different areas of Wigan, and which go through Shevington and through Gathurst and back, so like a shuttle bus you can hop off and then hop back on later, or so I'm told. There's the 640 and the 641.
The 640 passes by where I live close to town, and prior to late 2020 or thereabouts the bus would always be pretty well full going both ways, nowadays the the bus is empty or practically empty each and every time it passes by, if there are passengers that use the service further along the route I can't say.
I think ‘Sandra’ is agreeing with ‘Sue’ about the Albanian ‘refugees’ Cyril. (Offering free transport for them to Shevvy of all places.)
It looks like the idiot impersonator is doing multiple names. What a sad and boring life he/she leads.
Veronica, is that what was meant with 'shuttle bus,' sometimes a few of the posts do seem a bit iffy. I was going to ask what amenities are in Shevington she wanted to use as I couldn't of anything, though I remember Mick once boasting on here of Shevington having two bakery pie shops so maybe that's it. I can't think of any other area that has two pie shops to choose from, and shevyers must be keeping them both going too, so maybe a rename is in order and it should be changed to Scoffington.
It just seemed suspicious to me Cyril….
Having said that I don’t know how isolated Gathurst is. I can see how isolated UpHolland is from when I went there last year though….
Shangri La looks quite busy in comparison. But would the Parish Council allow a mere shuttle bus into their upmarket town/ village.? ;o)
