Photo-a-Day (Saturday, 20th May, 2023)
Where did Kevin go?
I though Pearsons Flash was water/ a Lake.
That’s one ugly looking ,’‘whatever it is’’. Sorry Mike no disrespect to your photography. King Chas would say it was a ‘carbuncle’..!
Kevin ??
What is this monstrosity?
Not one of the most inspiring photos I've seen on p-a-d. That's isn't a slur on your photography skills in the slightest, Mike, just on the subject. And I too am a bit lost with "Kevin"?? I'm sure you will explain it to us.
Kevin is a homeless guy who lived there. He now has a flat thanks to help from Tomplum amongst others.
What is it ?
It's not Pearson Flash just a rundown Obstacle.
Irene "Kevin"is a homeless man who for many a year has frequented the wooded area between the flashes. Tomplum used to see him every so often and had a bit of a chat with him.
The comments show why Dave Oy left ! Such a closed vision . No willingness to ask how or why Mike saw it , only as an object ? No sky mentioned at all , no comparison, just object , black and white . Only
see the views that my boundaries have set ! Beyond that are deemed …
So, what was in those concrete hoppers, and to where did they discharge?
How would we know that.
Well I'm out of my depth, I thought we were looking for Kevin the Carrot!
Garry, persons flash is a lake. Its similar to scotchgard flash.
I’m just glad Kevin has got somewhere better to live. How depressing to be around something as grotesque as that. I wouldn’t wish it on anybody.
Dave The photo shows blue skies with billowing clouds but our eyes are drawn to two ugly graffiti coated concrete hoppers/bunkers surrounded by rough grass. The title says it is Pearsons Flash where's the water? If there is no use for these eye sores then they should be demolished and turn the land back to nature. Or is the context of the photo to show urban decay in a rural beauty spot the objectivity is in the eyes of the photographer and lost on me
Thanks for the explanations of who Kevin is and I hope circumstances have now changed for the better for him. We were at New Brighton overnight last night and have just got back. I didn't bother to take the computer with me for just one night, so just catching up on p-a-d and only just seen the comments. Well done to Tomplum and all who helped Kevin.
I meant Scotchman's flash.
It doesn't say where, what, why or anything useful. Dave know it all, why don't you ask Mike what the subject is about, most of us haven't a glue. But thanks to PeterP for his explanation.
