Frozen Pond
This is a new low for a lack of photo/location description.
good call phil but someone will no the location right away besides mick
Yes, I agree with that comment. I dont know the Wigan of today very well but could look up where the pond might be located.....if the photographer gave it a title.
Come on Mick it only takes a few seconds longer to do that.
Now Phil, just because you don't know its location, it doesn't mean nobody else will.
Not being a drinker myself I didn't have a clue were
The Moorgate Inn Saturday, which appeared on Sunday, 19th March, 2023 or The Lychgate Saturday on the 18th March, 2023
Phillip, I know where it is.
It’s a pity those who know the location don’t share the knowledge. But would be better if the person who took the photo did indicate where it was. A frozen pond could be anywhere around Wigan. Or is it the intention to get people guessing… ? Sounds like it…
Looks like it could be just flooded rather than a permanent pond.
Perhaps Brian has sprung a new feature on us - "Guess where today's picture was taken" - with a year's free subscription to WiganWorld as the daily prize for the first with the correct answer.
Its the third most well know pond in Wigan.
1st being Wigan Park pond
2nd being Haigh Hall pond
3rd being this one, which many Wiganers would have drove past when they are out getting some fresh air
Depressing.

Looks more like a flooded field than a pond. What's the tree doind in the middle of it.
Haigh Hall pond is in Haigh.
I'd have thought the Fish Ponds ( Wrightington ) would have been in the top 3 round here Mick. And before I'm jumped on, I know it's not Wigan. I'm still no wiser as to where this pond is ?
Is it off Stadium Way/Scot Lane at Martland Mill, because if it is, that pond is part of the flood relief scheme for the River Douglas, if the River rises then so does the level of that pond.
Thanks Sir Bob, educated !!
