Telephone Wires
Photo: Poet (Lenovo TAB 2 A10-70F)
Just to the left of our bungalow there is a telegraph pole and about 100yds away is another, Both of them have been installed since at least 2003 and are not overladened. Last week 3 men were checking inside ground covers for fibre optics(BT) then a notice went up to install another pole between the two existing ones?? Why install another pole if there is sufficient capacity on the existing poles and every one is being changed over to fibre optics??
That's lovely. I like the lit-up windows. They remind me of when the nights begin to draw in and people still haven't closed their curtains at dusk and their lighted living-rooms have an inviting cosiness about them.
I saw the reds and golds and lights sparkling in the sky before it went as dark as this. As if the sky was ‘jubilant’ and reflecting in my imagination the Queen’s own Jubilee. I don’t know why I didn’t snatch my iPad up to try and capture it…
Meanwhile good shot Poet...
Nice one Dave, my pic was taken looking in the opposite direction including the 9-40 pm rainbow, mine was taken with a Samsung Galaxy A12 phone and probably wasn't up to scratch re showing on WW.
PS. Have you been down L H Lane recently ? Not perfect, but a 75% improvement.
This photo reminds me of riding my BSA 250 down the A49 to Lills Cafe.
Talking of the Queens jubilee, is it only me who saw the Wigan casino float, complete with dancers going down the Mall.
Been down this morning Roy and got a gob full of dust from someone going a tad faster than usual .
75% improvement is a good balance between keeping speed down and safe motoring .
We get some lovely sunsets from our back bedroom balcony we can see all of the Douglas valley, Parbold hill and Ashurst beacon
Saw the Northern Soul dancers.
Like white hot iron in God's great furnace. Awesome.
Last night, around 11pm, here on the Wirral, as I was locking up for the night, I was looking north into the sky and noticed how clear it was but what caught my eye was from NW to NE large white clouds (like islands in the ocean) floating high up. In the Daily Telegraph earlier in the week there was an article about Noctilucent cloud spotting season this month. Apparently these clouds are high altitude ice-sheets which can only be spotted up to 2 hours after sunset. It was a marvellous view. Did any one else spot this?
This is lovely poet, I love to look at the sunsets, and the Sky at night.I saw the northern float too at the Jubilee parade.
