I Do Too
Good pic Dennis, nice machine that what's with all the vehicles in park.
That bring back memories of travels in our VW van, freedom of the road..wish we had never sold it.
Wonder why this one was in the park, advertising it perhaps ?
Nice pic Dennis
Perhaps the wedding photos were taken in the
Park. That would certainly be a good backdrop for them.
The Park Keeper’s house near the gates is used for weddings these days, maybe that’s what was going on.
The wagons were there to set up the stalls for an event that was going ahead on the bank holiday Sunday or for replacing the fountain which is now working again.
Wonderful photograph, Dennis.
Beautiful VW and certainly looks in amazing condition. I really like the colours of this particular model, which looks like an early 1960's model, possibly circa 1963.
A model like that, in that beautiful condition, is going to cost a 'bob or two' these days. I wonder if that registration plate (I DO) is legitimate. If it is, then it is possibly worth more than the beautiful VW.
Dennis, thanks for letting us have a glimpse of a beautiful vehicle from the years gone by.
I checked the registration number online, and it shows that it belongs
to a blue Jaguar. Perhaps the VW owner just puts the "I DO" number
plate on for the sake of a wedding, after all, "I DO" is mentioned during
the marriage service.
From what I can gather from yon government vehicle registration site, this plate , 1 DO , is allocated to a blue jag that was first registered in June 2014.
According to the aforementioned site, the motor is taxed and tested until the back end of this year.
It also states that it’s propelled by a 5 litre , petrol swigging , internal combustion engine.
So with fuel prices being as high as they currently are, I wish the very best of luck to anyone who may be toying with the idea of driving the thing down to Gibraltar and back……….
…….or maybe they’ve already taken out a second mortgage on their property.
And of course, it will be exempt from the government’s proposed crackpot GMCAZ as it currently stands.
Now If this information turns out to be incorrect , don’t blame me,..blame the government .
In fact, as far as I’m concerned , whatever goes wrong , just blame the government and you won’t fall that far short.
Ozy, everything that happens we can blame the government. Look at the state we're in. Nice photo Dennis, it's brought memories back to the 60s.
