Cherry Blossom
Photo: Dennis Seddon (Sony DSC-WX500)
That is one classic image Dennis. It must be about the only area of Wigan that hasn't been messed about with.
Another pleasing shot, Dennis.
Very true H of T, some things are best left alone.
Nice, Dennis.
Nice photo. Only problem with cherry blossom is the 1st sign of gusty wind and the blossom ends up blowing down the street.
Excellent, Dennis.
Dennis: That cherry blossom does look brilliant, seem’s ironic though that we have CCTV cameras all over place, (Big Brother is watching).
That sounds familiar from somewhere.
Very nice photo Dennis, top marks.
It's nice for the druggies to hang out.
Thank you for your picture Dennis. I was curious about the spires or Pinaculo, so did some research, which I found hugely rewarding knowledge wise. How the writers and artists of the Renaissance, the Romans, Greeks, Germanic Goth's, French etc, influenced historical architecture, still very much alive today, is absolutely fascinating. Much appreciated Dennis.
Beautiful but fleeting -here this week and gone by next week. Such a pity as they are the most resplendent of all trees apart from Apple blossom.
Peterp you are so right, last house I lived there were three flowering cherries at the front of the house. Beautiful. As soon as they were in full bloom the wind came and petals were everywhere. Down the drive into the yard and as soon as the back door was opened in they came. And then it came, the rain, and it was hard work sweeping the petals up. So, admire them when you see them but be grateful they are not on your drive.
Lovely pic Dennis.
Only seen this at 7.30 pm as we have been to Whitby Goths and set out very early. Dennis, it was worth waiting all day for...what a .beautiful photo. Elizabeth, did you not go to the Goths this time, or do you just go in October?
The strong gusts of easterly winds earlier have almost entirely stripped the blossoms from the ornamental cherry trees along the roads and gardens, good to still see it in your photo Dennis.
I love Whitby Irene, but I haven't been to the Springtime Goths festival, only the October one.I have been for a day trip sometimes in summer too.
Lovely photo Dennis, of a beautiful church.I was in this church yard this week trying to get a photo of the flag for St.Georg's day, but was unsuccessful, due to high winds, and sunshine.
