Daffs in Aspull
Bring me sunshine
In your smile..
A daff is A daff no matter where they are . Four days on the trot getting a bit much now .We are in and around Wigan not Wales
NOT ANOTHER ONE!!
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
And found that after three whole days,
Ah'm reight fed-up o' daffodils!
I don't think Micks Daff PADs have just been about the Daffodils, they have show us parts of Wigan that many of us expat Wiganers haven't see for some time.
Wow! Look how long those trumpets are, nearly as big as yours Mick.
Nice one Irene, I bet Veronica will think of one.
I like the contrast of fleeting spring flowers and old brick tower, Mick.
A quick google told me the structure is the Grade II listed ‘Wall Hey Pit Furnace Ventilation Chimney’. I’ll look out for it when I’m next in Aspull.

Joanne, I got my son to look up what the structure was, I have noticed it before when I'm being driven down from Haigh village but I never thought what it actually was.
Surprising what you can see on a photo if you have a proper look
They are photos of the Wigan area with daffodils on them.
What's next?
Daffs in Asda? Daffs in Morrison's?
Just wondering.
Daffy Ducks, Gary, in Loony Toons, that all folks!
As you gaze upon me ,
I hold deep a lust ,
A need and requirement ,
A need and a must ,
a passion for living,
A strive for each day ,
A burning so needing
It won’t go away ,
But you take for granted ,
just turn the white brown ,
protect it with oil ,
to turn the light down ,
You don’t have the need ,
just the want to take place ,
Just dance when it happens ,
no thanks for its grace ,
I bathe for seconds
In moments of time ,
with thanks for the sunshine ,
not poetry or rhyme ..
Another dawn another day,
Another 'thrilling' flower display...
Trumpets sound and Bugles blow,
Spare us Lord another
Blithering bike ride round...
Where is our Veronica today? Hope you're okay, Dolly! xxx
Irene, SHE’s BEHIND YOU!
I'm here Irene, taking everything in!
Went to Wigan this morning - not very busy. Noticed the Galleries closed off on one side......more people shopping in Westhoughton than in Wigan. What a sad state of affairs. Even the bus station is almost deserted.
e: That’s brilliant verse mate, and I don’t regard myself as worthy to comment on your efforts, but I can only say well done it needs to be recognised, may be Poet can say it better, or some one that can appreciate poetry a lot better than me.
