Playing A Round In The Snow
How can they see the ball??
Is the golf ball a different colour than white.
I haven't seen any ice on the canal were I live this year yet.
I like this picture . The sweep of snow . The empty copse . The wet blobs of sleet on the cobbled ice . The lens has closed at just the right moment to portray the end of the hole . The stooping figure looks almost theatrical , like Richard the 3rd retrieving his ball .
Wiganer they use different coloured golf balls in the snow. Some are orange and others are red or bright green.
A nice composition and I like the fine dusting of snow. It's not putting the men off the golf anyway.
I see what you mean, Poet...."A golf-ball, a golf-ball, my Kingdom for a golf-ball"
Lovely wintery scenery. The pond reminds me of when my husband used to fish, He would break the ice on the pond to do so.
Edna the pond is the Leeds/Liverpool Canal
Mind you Irene, I think Haigh golf course is 'posher' than Dickie's Meadow .....;~)
PeterP, I was unaware that Haigh Hall golf course was along the side of the canal.
You know what they saya about golf,...It spoils a good walk. :)
I bet there's loads of golf balls in the canal ...
The kids used to drag the canal for them Veronica, and sell them back to the golfers, but they changed the layout of the Golf Course and that put them out of business.
