Nice pic Mick, what a beautiful place the world looks from a distance , then you look closer and see 'ooman beans ' fighting wars with each other, sucking all the resources out of it , and testing nukes left right and centre, polluting their own countries. The sooner we are all 'Terminators' the better...................It's being so happy that keeps me going. :-)

Wonder how much that cost ?
Interesting pic Mick.

Reminds me of ' Rover ' , the inflatable surveillance ball that pursued Number 6 in The Prisoner .
Be seeing you.

I don't like that at, all. I find it creepy. That is not a slur on the photograph, just the subject.

Comment by: George (Hindley) on 3rd December 2021 at 09:46

It's a bit high-brow for the likes of Leigh.

I saw them setting up yesterday for its stint in Salford Docks, outside Media City - and it was on the BBC North West weather slot with our Owain later in the evening. Its time at Pennington was cut short by Storm Arwen, I believe.

Comment by: Pw on 3rd December 2021 at 15:18

Yes it is now in Salford due to the storm.George who do you think you are ,Brian Cox or Patrick Moore?

Comment by: Rainh on 3rd December 2021 at 15:42

What a wonderful series that was/is Poet .
So so clever . Just as relevant today if not more so . When you look at the previous president of the US , Putin , the Chinese and North Korean leaders , the power of the media bosses etc etc it makes you wonder who is running what and who. Not forgetting the KGB , MI 6 , CIA , Mafia bosses all over world . Maybe David Icke is onto something . Sorry for going sideways Mick . Thank you for posting .

Comment by: Mick on 3rd December 2021 at 16:45

I like Owain the weather man and I also Emmanuelle Lhoni

Comment by: Syd Smith on 3rd December 2021 at 16:56

Rainh, you forgot to mention the daft folk who believed in all this nonsense, and who now bred and now have even dafter kids.

Comment by: Rainh on 3rd December 2021 at 17:38

I agree entirely Sid but one of my dearest friends in Wigan , highly gifted , always talks about ‘going with the flow’ he just accepts as true . The dafter kids Sid have now got mobile phones so word travels faster .
Have you seen how fast they can move their hands and fingered texting a message . Social media is taking them to a different planet to what we had .

Comment by: Jembo on 3rd December 2021 at 21:25

Nice photo but totally miises the point of it being "The Floating Earth".

Comment by: James Hanson on 3rd December 2021 at 22:18

Jembo. What, exactly, IS the point?

Comment by: annemarie on 3rd December 2021 at 22:19

I saw ut with owain in the docks he liked it. I went to Wigan today first time in weeks my phone was taken when I phoned it they swiched it off.Phoned ee and it is now blocked I dont care about phone just pictures on it my late husband ect cant be replaced .I wont be going to Wigan for a long time they can have phone just want sim card

Comment by: Jembo on 4th December 2021 at 10:05

James, the point is that it's called "The Floating Earth". It appears to be floating on the water. Just like it is now at Salford Quays.

Annemarie, if it's an iPhone then you may have your photos stored in an iCloud backup that can be restored to a new phone.

Comment by: Pat McC on 4th December 2021 at 13:13

Annemarie - So sorry that by stealing your phone, this callous person has also stolen precious photos of your late husband, which were much more valuable than the phone itself. I hope you manage to retrieve them, as suggested by Jembo. I don't really understand the technological side of things, but best wishes to you.

You are in my thoughts annemarie.A couple of yes ago I had my purse stolen, out of my bag, in the card shop on Standishgate near Christmas time. There was a small photo in it of me and my late husband, when we were teenagers. So I can empathise with you. That photo was precious to me.xx
