Thanks, Dave, a pretty picture that’s very apt for the first day of spring! Love the crocuses and the busy little bee visitor.

I wonder how many Wiganers harvest the Saffron strands from the crocuses that they have grown in their gardens, after all it is one of the most expensive spices in the world.
I know it takes a lot of strands, but if a charity like the Brick asked Wiganers to harvest there Saffron and send it in to them, so it could then be distributed to a hungry person using the Brick food bank.

In jellied ponds
Dots are on the move ....
In nests , pelicanesque
Beaks gape amid shards .
On hills ,
Lambs ooze gooey from ewes .
On the winds of the Sirocco
Swallows missile
From Morocco
Eager to see the newborn .
It is like someone has wound up
An old clock this spring equinox .

Comment by: Maureen on 20th March 2021 at 15:25

I'll certainly think about this Veronica, but it probably looks better in watercolor than oils or acrylics.xx

Where was your beginning?
The earth or from above?
Did the great one send you,
or a painters strokes of love.
When you show your face now,
I wonder what you see,
I hope you see smile back,
Like the warmth you give to me..
