I wonder how many Wiganers harvest the Saffron strands from the crocuses that they have grown in their gardens, after all it is one of the most expensive spices in the world.
I know it takes a lot of strands, but if a charity like the Brick asked Wiganers to harvest there Saffron and send it in to them, so it could then be distributed to a hungry person using the Brick food bank.
Lovely that's what we need at the moment to brighten and cheer us up.

Dave that is my kind of photo, Crocuses in Spring with the garden birds singing , we know Summer is on the way.
My Crocuses have almost gone but my Daffodils and tulips are in full bloom. Soon be time to cut the grass.
That's a much better photo than mop buckets and clothes pegs.

A beautiful flower. Mick saffron comes from a special type of crocus and some crocus types are toxic

I hadn't noticed the Bee Joanne and had to have another look, still it's really colourful and well worth another look.

It is like someone has wound up

I'll certainly think about this Veronica,but it probably looks better in watercolor than oils or acrylics.xx
Crocus Sativus are the 'saffron' crocus.
