I’m starting a petition to make Mick the borough’s fifth.

Comment by: Dougie on 13th January 2021 at 09:28

You maybe joking about Mick but his time will come along way in the future, he may never see the recognition of his work both photos & videos, as good as this photo by Oy is, this photo will still only be a good photo in a hundred years time,
I've one of Oy photos up in my house for over 7 years

I'd love to see the other sites, this one is beautiful.
I'll second the motion Dtease ....

Lovely photo. I remember when most photos were black and white and how wonderful we thought colour film was....now I realise how lovely black and white photos can be.

Moody like horror film.
Great shot.

Comment by: Edna on 13th January 2021 at 10:10

We see some special photos on here. This is one of them.

Comment by: Veronica on 13th January 2021 at 10:34

I agree with you Dougie, Mick does take some very excellent photos and videos. They will be a lasting legacy on here. They wouldn't be accepted if they weren't any good.
But sometimes his comments are open to ridicule and I think he knows that...yesterday's comment was definitely one of them. No spite intended on my part anyway. It does you good to have a laugh and a smile.

Comment by: Mick on 13th January 2021 at 10:55

Thanks for sticking up for me uncle Dougie.
To be honest these Wigan sites of special scientific interest dont do anything for me, I think they have only been given fancy names just to keep somebody in a job.
If Wigan council want to preserve something historical they should start with the Leeds Liverpool canal and the tow path because its a disgrace.
I know its nothing to do with the council, but they should get together with the Canal and River trust and adopted the bits that go through Wigan borough.

Mick not sticking up for you, I could see the merits over 15 years ago of the thing's you where doing before you could, and you know it

I'll back you up there Douglas, I think Mick is doing a good job with his pics and video making. DTease I don't know what you've got against Mick I just wish you'd keep your thoughts to yourself.

good photo dave

Mick has put some good pics on....maybe not all good but certainly some of them are. I agree with Veronica...I think he puts comments on sometimes to provoke a response and we certainly get a laugh, which, as Veronica so truly says, we need at the moment. Yesterday's answering comments by three of our gentlemen had me in stitches! I tried to read them out to my husband last night and I couldn't say them for laughing.....I had to pass the laptop over and let him read them himself! Mick knows I will speak my mind if I have to but , like Veronica, I mean no spite. I almost gave up on here early last year due to a nasty act by someone, but so many people, Mick included, stuck up for me and I am so glad I stayed. I look forward to the photos and the comments every day. They brighten this dreadful situation we are all in at the moment.

I fully agree with Dougie it don't matter if its Dave oy or Joe blogs who take the photo. In time they all be valued. Good quality or not.

Comment by: DTease on 13th January 2021 at 14:26

Tommy T, if everyone kept their thoughts to themselves there would be no need for this site would there?.
My thoughts and opinions are just as valid as yours. No one is saying that you have to agree with them, but don't try to deny me the opportunity to articulate them in the same way that you have articulated yours.
Also, Mick is quite capable of giving as good as he gets without any help, indeed he very often gives a good deal more than he gets.

Your all at it again spoiling this post of a lovely picture of Dave Oy, Mick is without doubt a tension seeker and most of you fall in his trap but never happens on his photos. You all sound so silly and stupid, he's done this he's done that, he's said this he's said that. This is not this site for tickle tackle and gossip. Come on some of you stay at home bored folk talk about the photos and not people.

Comment by: DTease on 14th January 2021 at 09:39

Yawn!zzzz.

Comment by: Veronica on 14th January 2021 at 09:54

Then just don't read what you perceive as 'tickle tackle' Alan. Which should read 'tittle tattle' when I went to school....I think Dave 'Oy' knows very well how much his photos are appreciated.
Dtease said it all in a nutshell, if you cared to read it.

Comment by: Mick on 14th January 2021 at 10:46

Alan what I do when I see tension seekering going on is to ignore them,
Ive been doing this for years on that Messagboard section.

Comment by: DTease on 14th January 2021 at 11:09

I looks after my tickle tackle Veronica, Ken Dodd never went anywhere without his tickle tackle.

Comment by: Alan on 14th January 2021 at 11:22

Its ok saying that but you do take my point.
DTease no answer.

Comment by: Veronica on 14th January 2021 at 11:29
