Brilliant Dave, they are very territorial and noisy birds.
Great shot.

Oy , can l have word ! Now I'm spokes coot for this lake and I've been asked to say we're getting pretty fed up of you lot banging about on the bank , glodding bricks in , swimming and the like . It were a nice quiet little lake this once . Fishermen ! , don't get me started on fishermen . A worm at one end and an idiot at the other , that's what I say . Now clear off .

That's a Peggy Mount glare, is that.....if she says it's twelve o'clock, it's twelve o'clock, and no arguing! Brilliant photo!

He stands out well on the icy lake in his best suit. A double spin would be effortless...especially with those feet!

Comment by: Anne on 12th January 2021 at 09:21

There's something comical about this bird, can't put my finger on it but is it as Poet sums it up. That look says it all or is it "my feet are frozen"

Comment by: Edna on 12th January 2021 at 12:52

Looks like he's saying, "don't come any closer" Dave..Brilliant photo.

Poet, you have just had us in stitches....I read your comment out to the man in my life in my best Lancs accent & he nearly fell off his chair ! WW does give us some cheer, it was DTease's turn yesterday.

Really good photo to boot Mr Oy.

Comment by: Garry on 12th January 2021 at 13:08

Another cracker Dave, you really do like the wildlife.

Comment by: Mick on 12th January 2021 at 14:11

It could be a Kiwi if it had a different coloured feathers, and different beak and different shaped feet

Comment by: DTease on 12th January 2021 at 14:20

“Yer cum aw this way fer o paddle un aw us yer get is frozen feet!”

Comment by: Veronica on 12th January 2021 at 15:21

In fact it would be a different bird altogether! In reply to Mick's bizarre suggestion.. I was wondering when he'd pipe up

Comment by: Blob on 12th January 2021 at 15:28

Mick. it could be a car if it had doors, windows, four wheels and an engine !!!!

Comment by: Veronica on 12th January 2021 at 18:20

I do think Blob and a DTease would make a good comedy duo!
I'm in stitches at Blobs post! ;o)))

Comment by: Arthur on 12th January 2021 at 18:30

Don't answer to Mick , he spoils other peoples post.

Comment by: Mick on 12th January 2021 at 18:44

What Im on about is the shape and size, if you don't believe me go and look at you tins of polish

Comment by: James Hanson on 12th January 2021 at 18:45

If that Coot was a Budgie, it would probably say "Liverpool Bus"!

Comment by: TerryW on 12th January 2021 at 19:08

Mick, stop spoiling the site because peoples photos are better than yours.

Comment by: Veronica on 12th January 2021 at 19:28

Mick behave yourself , your upsetting Arthur...
I don't know how we've arrived at tins of shoe polish and (s)coots on ice!

Comment by: Irene Roberts on 12th January 2021 at 19:37

Blob and DTease and Poet have had me in stitches today, Dolly dear! I keep going back to the post for another giggle! We need something to make us laugh at the moment.

Comment by: Veronica on 12th January 2021 at 20:19

It's the best laugh I've had all day - my dear!
Blob's comment is priceless but Mick made it possible... as usual ...!
