Trucking along
Photo: Dave (Oy) (Fuji X-Pro2)
Correction - this is from the bridge over the canal looking towards the bridge over Poolstock Lane.
The white panel truck on the new Poolstock Bridge in the distance is water and weather proofing the bridges.
When you’re out on the job
And in need of a poo
There’s nothing more welcome
Than a portable loo
It’s there where they need it
All shiny and new
Just waiting for workers
To do what they do
So a round of applause please
From me and from you
For the clever inventor
Of the PORTABLE LOO!
The big wheels and big hump of the bridge go thunderously well together, Dave.
I can't understand why the rollercoaster type road with all the technology today, I mean, it was almost very straight when the disused Pemberton railway line ran this way.(Must be the cost) Very good photo shot Mr Oy.
They were riding along on the crest of a wave,
As the man in the van ate a butty,
And down below, the tangerine dream;
Our Stan and his pals playing Footy.
At one time this road would have been built by flat cap wearing men working with spades, now its all yellow jackets and big machines.
Is that blue box Caddys lav
More like a roller- coaster than a road, sad to say I would not have recognised this area, apart from some of the landmarks on the other photo that Mick posted the other day...how Wigan has changed so much over the years. I would be completely lost nowadays...
more traffic pollution over poolstock not good dave
I wonder when they'll install money-grabbing speed camera's?
It isn’t as much of a rollercoaster as the photo looks. I used a long lens so there’s a lot of Zoom compression’ going on.
Looks like the most stupid bit of road building that I have ever seen.
I like the ode DTease !
I thought is was a camera trick and people say the camera never lies.
Some camera shots of trains from a distance make the tracks look bent and uneven.
If the road was so 'up and down' you would experience butterflies when driving down. I know I used to when coming down through New Springs...;0))
