I wish I had paid more attention to the person that showed me the place and the history of the first mints made in A-in M, later to be changed to uncle Joe's mints on her marriage

I used to collect prizes for the RSPCA raffles held at Christmas and Easter, and John Winnard at Santus always generously gave either a blue and white or cherry and white striped Uncle Joe's mug full of mint balls as a prize, Heinz too was also generous in giving a couple of food hampers as prizes for each raffle, they were the only two businesses in Wigan that gave prizes and we that was at the RSPCA then was always very grateful for their support of a local charity.
