Cruising
Collecting for the Bommie by narrowboat, were they, Ron, . . . that's a good 'un'.
Canal is full of green weeds along that stretch to Red Rock , could cause big problems to rudders of narrowboats😥
The opposite of yesterday's photo... Instead of poles there's trees, instead of signs there's bridges and paths, instead of the hard road, there's calm and peace of water rippling in the gentle sunshine.... No craziness only consideration for ones fellow men....
The weed islands have been floating up and down on the stretch for a few years now
Great photo. The floating pennywort (?) weed has now completely taken over the former Wigan Rowing Club canal basin near the Green Bridge at Haigh. Lots of work going on to keep it under control, but it looks like its winning.
I did hear about the Triffids accumulating just around the bend. Beware...!!!
Very pleasant photo, Ron. Good one.
Loveley photo a beautiful area that was at one time under Wigan Council now Lancashire. You know, Parbold has some great views on top of the hill on a clear day, some loveley houses and farms especially around Newbrough.
